One of the keys a website must do, in order to retain good rankings with Google or other ranking services, is to have related content. A niche website works wonders in the SEO game. The more content you can add to a website, that relates to the other content already in place, is the better chance a webmaster has, in moving up the search engine rankings. If you can find one of the big affiliate programs online, that offers many different products to promote, you can actually benefit from it. A webmaster that continues to add content on their site, that relates to the products from a big affiliate company, will be scoring high scores in the related material category. You may see a drop in the PR number; when you first join a big affiliate program online and began posting links that lead to their products. You can get your original pagerank numbers back, if you continue to update your site with fresh content and links pointing to the same sources. A webmaster may just be able to push their site into a new page rank territory, if they stay aggressive with an affiliate company for 1 year or longer. This is a great SEO tip anyone can apply to their website. Not only will you have the chance to gain precious PR numbers from Google, but earn a little extra money on the side for your promotional efforts and earning any extra money online is always nice!

This is a valuable tool to see where your page stands with Google. Page ranks can be 0 to 10. Don’t hold your breath for the 10 ranking, because there is only about 2 or 3 websites that hold the elusive 10 rank with Google. Not many websites at 9 either, so you probably don’t have a 9 ranking or you would know about it already. A rank of 8 is possible but very tough to get.
Usually a good website that keeps fresh content and sticks to a niche will land a 1 through 4 ranking with Google. The websites that go 5 or higher are pretty rare. If you have kept your content fresh and stuck to a certain niche, you should be showing a ranking with Google. It does take a little time to get ranked, so if you haven’t had your website too long, you may still be at 0.
If your website is older than 1 year and you have no ranking yet; then it may be time to optimize your website some. You need to make sure you have a good meta tag in place and a RSS Feed is great for your website too. These two things can make a dramatic improvement in your website’s rankings. Another thing you can work on to get your website soaring up the ranks is having a lot of links coming to your website. Trading links with fellow webmasters really isn’t that good of an idea. It’s great for people that have brand new websites, but if you had your website for a few months now; then just try to get links directed toward your website. You want to try and limit the out going links from your website and try to get as many other websites pointing toward your site as possible. This is the most popular way webmasters get a higher ranking with Google. It’s also a fast and effective way to get the page rank moving up the charts.
