Ok, not really. There is a very interesting story that is currently on all the news stations right now. It appears a nuclear power plant has shut down in the sunshine state and is causing many power outages. I think everyone’s first thought to hear about problems with a nuclear power plant was terrorists. It doesn’t appear to be the case in Florida and many think it is just a technical problem right now. I live in Georgia so that news is a big relief for me and I hope everyone in Florida has been made aware of the situation too. It can be hard to get news in your area when the power gets shut off. I have been around for many bad thunderstorms and tornados in the area and I know the helpless feeling of wanting to know what is happening, but you don’t have no television or radio, because the power is out.
It was estimated that as many as 3 million people might have loss power due to this technical problem at the power plant in Florida. My last update from CNN is saying the number is more like 100 to 120 thousand people with loss of power now, so most have got their power again and the situation has improved a lot from just a few hours ago. It looks like Florida did a good job in detecting this problem and getting it straightened out. It is amazing to think any power plant could affect so many people. We just live in a world that’s getting more overcrowded by the day and more people have to rely on fewer resources. This situation in Florida could just be a glimpse into the future when more and more things will occurr that will dramatically affect our day to day lives.
