Contest Factory: Pimp My Cube Contest

A great new contest is now underway. It started on December 5th and will not end until the last day of January 2012 (Jan 31st @ Noon Time). So you still have time to enter, if you think you have a really bad office space at work. No joke! You could actually win a super office space or a whole new cubicle or cubby hole space, if you can convince others of just how bad you have it at work.

This is the Pimp My Cube Contest from the guys at the Contest Factory. To enter this awesome new contest, you must first create a video of your situation at work. Get out the camcorder or a video recorder and show us the lousy conditions you have right now. Be sure to speak loud and as clear and plain as possible, when you walk us through your horrible conditions.

You may talk about the old computer, fax machine, phone system, type writer, or any other tech gadgets you have, which are out-of-date. Would a technology upgrade help you? Maybe you work in a distant corner and have no lights over your desk or cubicle space. If it is too dark, perhaps this Pimp My Cube at Work Contest could help to lighten things up a bit? It will be up to you, to convince others online and the contest judges of your poor working conditions. Perhaps your desk is just a mess and nothing is organized properly. To get things clean, organized, and up-to-date, it will just take 1 video and some help from your friends, family, and co-workers and you could be the grand prize winner!

Once your video is uploaded and you have entered your name into the Pimping Cube Contest, you can do a few things extra, to help your chances in winning this great contest. Get all your friends, family, and those folks you work with everyday, to come online and vote for your video. The video with the most online votes, will have a real good chance at winning this contest. The judges from the Contest Factory will also look at your video and see how well you did, in presenting your case to the online viewers. They want the “worse” office space or cubicle to win. It is up to you, to show just how bad things really are for you at work each day. You can demonstrate this, by showing us visually with your video and talking us through each portion of your presentation. Be sure to do a good job with it, but also have some fun with it. Your sad story needs to be funny to others and I think comedy will help to secure some extra online votes; from the strangers who might see your video on the Internet.

It will take votes and getting the judges to like it (or feel sorry for you), to capture the grand prize. Also, a nice 2nd place prize will be given randomly to a contest entrant. The young YouTube Sensation we know as Alex is still cranking out the videos from her Mexican home. She has a great voice and sings a lot of great songs. You can check out many of the songs she has uploaded to this point at You Tube and see just how great of a sensation she is.

Her message is in Spanish. Here is a rough translation of what she had to say:

Hi guys , how are you , I hope you`re very well.

Well , this recording will be about a subject which appeares to be of high-fashion these days.

It`s about a virus , called Influenza , which is spreading across USA , Canada and Mexico , a new virus , a new disease of high contagiousness , a type of flu but more acute. This type of flu comes from pigs , and it`s spreading , and there are a lot of cases.

Starting Friday evening , they (authorities) started doing rounds , they`ve been in people`s homes , (they did something with plasthics) , they told us we have to stay indoors under any circumstances , and for any emergency we can call a certain number , they told us we cannot have appliances on for more than 4 hours , food will be delivered to us.

They are instructing us and taking a lot of precautions.

Classes are suspended , from small children to universities , also people are not going to work.

Classes will (restart) on may 6th.

People have asked me what i think about this.

Well , firstly , I think the information we`re getting is filtered , (because there are more precautions taken now than with the aviary flu) , and they are hiding the seriousness of swine flu from us. People walking on the street have their mouths covered , everything is closed , cinemas , parks , we cannot go out of the house , everything , everything is closed.

Secondly , i think, this is a time of becoming aware , even if a little , because we are responsible too , humanity caused all these new viruses to appear , and unfortunatelly now , for these new viruses there are no vaccines , and i don`t know what they will do , they told us all the precautions we need to take , but i don`t know what they will do about the people who are already sick.

So , we have to think about this , even if a little , because we are responsible too , through our messed up diets , throwing garbage everywhere and so on , we are responsible about all this too.

Let`s hope the authorities can handle this flu situation well , let`t hope things don`t become of major seriousness , take care of yourselves guys , take precautions , and we`ll see eachother again at the next recording (video).

I always liked this song. It is actually based on a true story. It was a car accident in Georgia and someone living in the town where the accident happened wrote this little tune. It has held up over the years and Pearl Jam covered the song several years back that shinned new light on this great song.

We should see the first round this year go about like that. I think there are several surprises in this year’s draft class. I think Mark Sanchez from USC will drop like a rock in the draft and I really don’t think he’s worth a first round pick for any NFL team. It should be interesting to see how it all unfolds on April 25th. Does this mock draft have a player going to your favorite team that you would like for them to draft? If so, there is a good chance you may just land that nugget in this year’s draft class. Maybe you didn’t like the player chosen in this NFL mock draft, but it’s not official until the 25th gets here, so still time for things to change.

Continue to follow all of Alex’s best videos here and I will keep you posted on the Teen’s rising as she becomes an Internet Star. Alex has uploaded dozens of videos at Youtube and most of them are of her great singing abilities.

I also forgot to wish Alex a Happy Birthday on March 28th and it was Alex’s 17th birthday! They say it’s better to be late than never, so hopefully Alex forgives me on this one! It’s been 2 years since I started posting her videos and she continues to impress with each new one she releases. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before we see Alex singing or acting on the television one day. Happy Birthday Alex!

The 4th spot does mean the Hawks will have home court advantage in the playoffs. This has been the goal of the team this year and making it past the 2nd round is unlikely with Mike Woodson’s coaching ability. He seems set on playing Joe Johnson 40 plus minutes a game and this is not right for the team right now.

Congratulations to the Atlanta Hawks organization, their players and coaches, and for all the loyal fans that continue to support basketball in Atlanta.

The Youtube Sensation from Mexico that we know as Alex has recently added this new video over at YouTube. It’s her singing Listen To Your Heart and I can remember Roxette being the first person I heard singing this song. I believe others have sung it too, but most people will know Roxette’s version of this song.

Which YouTuber did you like best? Do any of them do this song as well as Alex does? You don’t have to wait for American Idol to come on and you can see a lot of great amateurs singing away at YouTube in front of their webcams.

The Teen Sensation from Mexico just keeps rolling along and Alex is a star in the making! Be sure to check back later for more of these great videos that Alex uploads over at YouTube.

It started off as a route for the home team and the Bulldgos got off to a fast start in front of their home fans which was easily over 90,000+ cheering fans. The 28 to 12 halftime score favored the Bulldogs and it seem Tech would fall short for a 8th straight year. The triple option started to show why it’s been so effective this year and the Yellow Jackets used it exclusively to get back in the game. It was a run away 2nd half for the guys in white and gold and the Bulldogs defense had no answer for the unique offense in the 2nd half. Georgia Tech couldn’t be stopped and when the dust settled between the hedges, the Yellow Jackets had put 45 points on the scoreboard and the Georgia Bulldogs only managed 42 points in their final efforts.

This may have just been the best game ever between Georgia and Georgia Tech. I’m sure the state of Georgia will be buzzing about this one for a long time. So it’s the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets that will have bragging rights for the next 365 days and I can’t wait for these two teams to play each other once again. Mark Richt suffered his first loss to the Yellow Jackets since he has been head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs. On the other side of the field, Paul Johnson now has the streak and he has never lost to the Georgia Bulldogs in his first year as head coach of the Jackets. So be sure to mark this one down on the schedule next year and the rivalry in Georgia is alive and doing well!
