User Generated Videos YawpBox

Social Source No Comments »

The practice of uploading videos online is becoming more popular everyday. I don’t think no one could have realized the impact of this industry and how user generated content could cover up the web. A lot of the popular places you can go to online now has millions of videos to look through and you can see just about anything you want from their users. Now YawpBox might have just taken the online videos we see everyday to a new level. They are creating tv shows that get filmed in Dallas, Texas in front of a live studio audience. This is the first time anybody has ever created a tv show, where the content of the show is all done by users online; that are creating these user generated videos. This is a great opportunity for people to get their 15 minutes of fame and all by just creating a video in the comforts of their home.

I got my 15 minutes of fame last year when I won a big screen television. Not only did I get a big screen television, but I had a cameraman show up at my door while it was being delivered. He filmed me receiving the television and also bobbing for peaches to win some extra cash too! You can still see that video of me doing this on one of the most popular places online to view user generated videos. Now others will be able to get their 15 minutes of fame and they will get to be on a television show! I think this is a great idea by YawpBox and I believe this will gain in popularity.

Lex and Terry will be doing the commentary of just regular people like you or me, doing things in front of a camera. YawpBox is taking this social networking thing to the television screen and I can see this being very big. I love looking at all the videos online of people singing and playing musical instruments. American Idol is a popular tv show that has amateur singers giving it their all in front of millions and millions of people. You can go to a few of these places that host these videos and see thousands and thousands of amateur singers and you will get that American Idol feel. You get to hear some really talented singers online and you get to hear some pretty bad singers, just like American Idol does!

Not trying to encourage anyone to do stunts in front of a camera, but one of the best videos I have seen online was a stunt video. I seen a guy on roller skates, skate off a two story house and into a swimming pool. It was all caught on camera and I have watched that video a few times online. It was amazing that guy didn’t get seriously hurt or paralyzed, but he survived to be a legend on all the popular video places that kids and even the adults are going to these days. So if you want to be the next star on YawpBox, please do so with your humor or talents and not the stupid stunts that some people try to get attention from.

I really think this YawpBox is going to take off. I think it has everything American Idol has and more, because it just doesn’t have to be people singing. American Idol might have their hands tied to singers, while the sky is the limit for YawpBox!

So do you feel that you’re up to the Lex and Terry Challenge? They will give out an assignment each week for people to create videos with a certain topic or theme in mind. Once they give out the assignment from their radio and tv broadcast, you can create a video for them to use. The videos will then be grouped together and you will be able to find them on their section of the page at YawpBox. This sounds like an opportunity for a lot of people to get their 15 minutes of fame from user generated videos online.

Giant Rat Found In Indonesia

Social Source 1 Comment »

Scientists has recently discovered a giant rat in Indonesia. It seems we are always discovering some new species everyday and its usually some type of bug. Now that they have discovered this new rat, it makes you wonder just what else is crawling around the Earth. I don’t think many people will be happy to know that a new rat species is on our planet. Judging by the size of this new rat, I would say the cats wouldn’t even be happy with this. I couldn’t imagine most house cats attacking and killing a rat of this size.

071217-bigrat-hmed-9a_hmedium.jpg

Yeah that’s a pretty big rat!

A rat like that would be a Thanksgiving dinner for a whole neighborhood of cats. Even some of the rat traps you buy in the supermarket couldn’t do any damage to a monster like this. These rats are in Indonesia and hopefully one won’t jump on a ship and travel over here. I think this is one species that North America doesn’t need!

Is any one of these songs your favorite? I love how all the radio stations will play Christmas songs during the holidays. I like a lot of Christmas songs and its hard to just pick one. One that many people don’t talk about is the Hippo Song and that’s a great Christmas song that just doesn’t get played much. It’s a story about a boy wanting a hippopotamus for Christmas and it’s the only thing he wants. The name of the song is called: I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas.

Now since I live in the South, I really like the song by Alabama called: Christmas In Dixie This is a song that has a lot of different U.S. cities in it, such as Fort Payne, Alabama, Jackson, Mississippi, and Charolotte, Carolin (North Carolina). You can also hear New York City, Atlanta, and Chicago in this song by Alabama. It’s a great Christmas song and I look forward to listening to this one each year.

So what’s your favorite Christmas song? Have you ever heard of the Hippo Song or Christmas in Dixie? Did I not list a Christmas song you like? Please be sure to let me know your favorite Christmas songs and any songs that you look forward to hearing each year.

Trivia with Friends

Social Source No Comments »

Going out to eat is always a great social thing to do. I like to get together with my friends and go play trivia at different places. We have a pretty solid trivia team and usually we can get one of the top 3 spots, so we can get a prize. Most of the trivia places will give out a food discount or bar tab. They don’t let you use it that night, but you can come back and use it next week when they have trivia again. That is what we usually do, instead of making a special trip to the place we won it at.

The trivia games are really easy at some places and others its quiet hard. They will ask questions on just about everything like science, geography, sports, cartoons, movies, television, history, and music. Our trivia team is made up of people that are strong in all of these categories. So even if we don’t know the answer, we can still give a good educated guess on what the right answer might be. If you’re looking to do something new with your friends, go out and try to find a place that plays trivia in your area. I’m sure you will have a lot of fun and its free to play!

Hurricane Needed

Social Source 1 Comment »

The drought is never gonna stop it appears. We figured with Fall here now in the South that the rains would come, but that hasn’t happend yet. It’s gotten so bad, a local news station is going to be doing a 30 minute special just on the drought. At 6:30 EST on Sunday Evening, the ABC affiliate in Atlanta (channel 2 News) will be conducting an half hour show on the drought in Georgia. Many believe this is the worse one ever. We was lucky to have a few brief showers the other night, but the ground quickly soaked all of that up and we need more. LOTS MORE! I think as bad as it might seem to say, we need an hurricane in the Peachstate. I think we could do without all the power outages and wind damage that comes along with a hurricane, but all the wet stuff would be a welcomed sight.

I know I have lived my whole life in Georgia and I can’t recall it ever being this bad. We are under a 0 tolerance water ban in Georgia. Your first offense is just a written warning, but the 2nd time you get caught doing any outdoor watering, it could cost you as much as $100. Please try to conserve the water when you are washing dishes, brushing your teeth, taking showers, and only do clothes when you have enough to complete a full load. If we all pitch in just a little, I think we can make a dent in this awful drought and hopefully we can make it until the November Rains set in.

If you have any tips or tricks on how to save water, then please reply and if we all can save a drop here and there, maybe the fire departemnt will have enough when the next house or woods catch on fire. Lack of water like this is unsafe for all of us, so please try to conserve!

Where Were You? When 9/11 Occurred?

Social Source 15 Comments »

I am a little too young to remember when Elvis Pressley died and I wasn’t even born when JFK was shot in Texas. I have heard that people that were around for these tragic events always remembered where they were at or what they was doing.

FREEDOM ATTACKED BY A FACELESS COWARD

I wanted to find out about the 9/11 stories and see what people were doing when those planes first hit the World Trade Center Towers 6 years ago in New York. That day would get worse as the Pentagon and a plane crash in Pennsylvania would follow the tragic happenings in New York. Today we are still paying the price as our brave men and women continue to defend our country and the world’s freedom in countries like Afghanistan where our military chose that as the first strike in response to 9/11.

My 9/11 story is pretty simple, but I will never forget it. I was online playing spades and had been up all night playing them. I was getting ready to go to bed that morning when someone came online and mentioned the World Trade Center was on fire. I got off the computer and figured I would watch that as I went to sleep that morning. While watching it on television, I saw the 2nd plane hit the WTC building. I thought it was a water-plane trying to put water on the other tower that was on fire. The station I was watching quickly determined that this was a terroist act and that water-plane I saw was actually a large jumbo jet. Those buildings in New York were so massive, they made those big jets look like a small airplane. I didn’t go to sleep that morning and I spent the next several days watching the constant 24 hour coverage that was on our television screens.

I don’t think many people realize just how devoted our television stations stayed with the 24 hour coverage they did on the events of September 11th. It was on a Tuesday Morning when it all started and for the main outlets of ABC, CBS, and NBC, they didn’t show a commercial until Sunday Evening around 5 or 6 in the evening that was about 5 days after it all started. It’s unthinkable to imagine how those news stations was able to deliver 24 hour coverage of this event for the next 5 days like they did. When they did finally show that first commercial on tv, it was a 9/11 or Red Cross related commercial. Our slogan for that day became known as “WE WILL NEVER FORGET”, and I hope that remains true for the rest of my life living in this great country of ours.

So many people are quick to point out the mistakes by our adminstration, the President, and the way our troops are still dying in places like Afghanistan and Iraq. Before you start pointing the finger at whose fault it is, and why our troops are still sheding blood over in the Middle East, just remember who started this and who the real enemy is.

I would like to hear your September 11th story. If you remember what you was doing, how you heard about it, and what your first thoughts were when those planes were drove into the buildings in New York, then please leave a reply. It’s been 6 years since all of that has happend and now we get a chance to reflect on it again, as this September 11th will be on a Tuesday in 2007.

GOD BLESS THE USA by LEE GREENWOOD (tribute 9/11)

Rob Zombie Meets Michael Myers

Social Source No Comments »

More people might be aware of Rob Zombie the musician instead of Rob Zombie the director. He started out as a musician with the band White Zombie. Now it appears that you see his name associated more with movies than with his music. He did a couple of movies that had a very gruesome story line and wasn’t necessarily for all members of the family. The kids might of had a little trouble sleeping if they would have caught a glimpse of House of 1000 Corpses or the Devil’s Rejects. Now I believe Mr. Zombie will be having a lot of fun with his latest project that is set to open on August 31st of 2007.

Halloween the movie

I am really excited to see this new movie from the Halloween Series. These movies and all of the Friday the 13th movies (except for part 5) are some of my favorite horror movies of all time. Just go ahead and throw Freddy Krueger’s Movies in and you really would have a collection of all my favorite horror movies. Now the first Halloween movie was really good. That might be my top movie of all-time! The Jamie Lee Curtis being a baby-sitter and at the end they shoot Michael Myers to death and he falls over the balcony and lays dead on the ground. Only to see the old man comes back to the balcony for one more look at Michael’s dead body and he sees that he is gone! Then you hear that famous music and it goes off!

The first Halloween was truly a good movie from beginning to end, with probably the most famous horror music in any movie. It has to rank up there with the little Nightmare on Elm Street’s counting song they do with the man that has knives as fingers.

It appears from the previews and trailer of this movie that they are going to take us to more of the beginning of Michael’s life. The other Halloween movies give us small glances of his early childhood days, but really don’t build a stairway up to what he eventually becomes, as the killing machine from hell that can’t be stopped! I’m not for sure, but it just seems like this will be more about Michael as a child than an adult in Halloween the movie.

So what are your favorite horror movies of all-time? Do you like all the other Halloween Movies as much as I do? Please be sure to let me know and are you planning on making a special trip to the movie theatres on August 31st to see this movie? That will be the first day that the public will have a chance to see this Halloween picture. I would fully expect this movie to break a lot of records on opening weekend and don’t be surprised to see it up there with Freddy .vs. Jason as that picture did real well on it’s opening weekend. The holiday Halloween is still going to be 2 full months away from when this movie opens. I bet it will still be playing on the big screens, and don’t be surprised to see the holiday season give this movie it’s 2nd wind in late October!

Evan Almighty Is Popular!

Social Source No Comments »

One of the latest big movies to hit the big screen is Evan Almighty. The box office was kind to this movie that looks to be pretty funny judging by the previews I have seen so far. The scary new thriller by Stephen King was 2nd at the box office raking in just a touch over $20 million dollars for the 1408 Movie. Evan Almighty was even more popular as movie fans brought in over 32 million dollars at the box office to see this movie.

Bruce Almighty was a successful movie in it’s own right and the creators of that movie has produced this new movie Evan Almighty. This comedy is going to give us a whole brand new view on that famous arc that Noah built from the floods. I could see some religious parties that make take some offense to this movie dealing with a popular biblical story in Noah’s Arc. This is a movie suitable for all the members of the family. So don’t be afraid to take the kids to see this blockbuster movie this summer. I think Evan Almighty will be at the theaters for awhile, from all the positive reviews that is coming from this new comedy from Universal!

Physicians That Love Practicing Medicine

Social Source No Comments »

Not all physicians like what their current roles are involving right now. It might just be a case of getting too many patients, and can’t fully give them the proper treatment they deserve. Some other physicians might have some other troubles that could be personal or financial related. There is now a place physicians can go to be treated! I know that sounds funny, but it’s true. Many physicians dreamed of what it was going to be like when they became doctors in the real world and things haven’t panned out like they would have hoped for.

Concierge Medical Company can help doctors get back on track to doing what they love best, which is practicing medicine. The concierge doctors can help provide support and work out better solutions for physicians that are not currently enjoying practicing medicine. The MDVIP Group is affiliated with some of the most prestigious medical facilities in the country. They work with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Cleveland Clinic, UCLA Medical Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Joslin Clinic, and the Miller School of Medicine.

MDVIP’s goals are to help some of the best physicians in the USA, so they can deliver the best quality of medical service possible to their patients. Their whole process involves searching out the best doctors in the country and making them even better! They do a detail background check on these physicians that involves reputation, accomplishments, honors, and accolades. MDVIP also recognizes the importance of how a doctor handles their bedside manners, and just their overall ability to convey compassion to the patient. Many physicians are chosen based on accomplishments they have already received. Best Doctor Awards and Castle Connollys Top Doctor are just a couple of the awards that MDVIP looks at when trying to choose some of the best doctors around for their program.

An MDVIP Physician will have the benefits of having his or her doctor’s office run the way they dreamed it would be like. As a MDVIP Physician you will be able to control your patient numbers to a limit of 600, so you can be sure that you give them the medical care they deserve. This gives physicians a chance to give all their patients a thorough yearly exam, so then the physician can focus more on preventive medicines and exams that can help them to detect problems much sooner. Medicine has come a long way over the years and it always seems to come back to one thing. The sooner you know about a medical problem, the better chances you have to beat it or recover from it. For more information on MDVIP and the services they provide, you can call them at: (800) 706-4384

Amateur Jeff Fox Drops the Ball

Social Source No Comments »

It’s not clear what collegehoops.net saw in one of their reporters from Canada, but he clearly doesn’t have any NBA knowledge whatsoever. He has recently posted an article on June 20th concerning the Atlanta Hawks and what they might do with the 3rd pick in the draft. He’s right that the first two picks are locked up, and the draft will begin with Atlanta’s pick (3rd overall). From there he totally goes in the wrong direction with unnecessary remarks concerning the Atlanta Hawks.

He praises the Phoenix Suns and lashes out against the boys from the ATL. I guess that Mr. Jeff Fox failed to mention a couple of things in his article, which I will do now. Is he aware of the youth in Atlanta and how they have been the youngest team in the NBA for the last few years. No wonder championships haven’t been won in Atlanta, since their fellow big brothers are a lot older and more experienced than them. I wonder if Jeff Fox has any younger siblings or older ones. Maybe he has a big brother or sister that picked on him, and now he gets to pick on someone smaller than him. I guess he got the gig at CollegeHoops.net by poking fun at the little guys. He might want to remember the little guys do grow up some day.

He really thinks Phoenix will end up with a lottery selection next year. He could be right, Nash is starting to age and has lost a step, and the Amare trade rumors continue to swirl, so Phoenix might very well have a lottery selection next year. Suns fans will be happy to know that they will get a 2nd pick in the first round in the 2008 draft next year, since they will get Atlanta’s pick from the Joe Johnson trade. This will not be a lottery pick, because THE ATLANTA HAWKS WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS NEXT YEAR! GURANTEED!

Amateur reporter Jeff Fox has no problems mentioning the Hawks blunders in previous drafts. Yes the Hawks passed on Josh Howard from the Dallas Mavericks, like the rest of the teams in the NBA did too! He compares Luol Deng from the Bulls like he is so much better than Josh Childress of the Hawks.

LUOL DENG Started 82 games (37.5 MPG), 18 points per game, .59 blocks per game, 1.18 steals per game, 7 rebounds a game, 77% from the free throw line, 51% FG percentage from the floor, 2.5 assists a game

JOSH CHILDRESS Started 13 games (36.8 MPG), 13 points per game, .65 blocks per game, 1.05 steals per game, 6 rebounds a game, 79% from the free throw line, 50% FG percentage from the floor, 2.3 assists a game

Now is this really a huge blunder? Which player would you like to have? These stats look pretty similar to me, and I think either player would give you the same production as the other. So calling this a draft day blunder doesn’t make no sense. Jeff Fox also forgot to tell you about Josh Smith who went 17th in this draft, and all the teams that passed him up. Josh Smith was one of the top 3 guys in block shots this year, and he’s only 21 years old! Seems Mr. Knight (Atlanta GM) might have a little luck afterall.

Then he goes on to mention the Hawks passing on Derron Williams and Chris Paul, and selecting Marvin Williams out of North Carolina. I don’t even see how you can start to compare these young guys yet, especially when Marvin was born in June of 86′ and Chris Paul and Deron Williams was born in May of 1985 or earlier. Just another example of how Mr. Fox likes to pick on the smaller kid. I wonder if he was a bully in school? It’s not been determined yet, who got the best player here yet. Check back in 2015 and compare these 3.

I was even amazed to see his article on June 20th, which was so recent. Most people in the basketball circle see Atlanta trading this 3rd overall pick to move lower down in the draft. So not sure why Mr. Fox spent so much time speculating who Atlanta would take 3rd overall in this upcoming draft. This just shows you a good example why some people shouldn’t even be allowed to turn on a computer, much less write a sports article on a sport or a team that he knows absolutely nothing about.

Feel free to contact Mr. Fox for any comments on his June 20th Article about the Atlanta Hawks. I will be emailing him, and I look forward to his reply to me.

L.A. Laker Fans Worry

Social Source No Comments »

The Los Angeles Laker fans are getting worried as the NBA Draft is approaching. The fans aren’t really concern with who the Lakers might take with their number 19th overall pick, but keeping NBA leading scorer Kobe Bryant on the roster. It’s being rumored now that Kobe wants out of LA. If the Lakers were going to move the superstar out of the gold and purple, it would most certainly be before or during this year’s NBA Draft.

Most are calling this a 2 player draft with Greg Oden going 1 and Kevin Durant going 2nd. Once you get to the Atlanta Hawks 3rd overall pick, then the draft could take any direction. If Kobe is leaving Los Angeles then you have to go right to the top of the draft first.

The Portland Trailblazers have that pick and it would be really hard to trade away a future NBA center that will probably have a 10+ year career as a starting center in the NBA. If they was going to ship Oden out, then it would take a player like Kobe for them to pull the trigger. Portland is very young and adding a 29 year-old Bryant might not make the most sense here.

Then we have the Seattle Supersonics who is on the clock. Kevin Durant falls in their lap with the 2nd overall pick. This could be possible here; if Seattle could add in future draft picks and maybe gets Rashard Lewis under contract. I could see Kevin Durant, Rashard Lewis, and a future 1st round draft pick being enough for the Lakers to bite. Ray Allen and Kobe Bryant would be a tough tandem to deal with, if you could find a way for them to both get their shots each night.

Then you have the Atlanta Hawks who have a lot of young players on their squad. Packaging up some of these players and Atlanta having the 3rd and 11th overall draft picks in this year’s draft, might be able to land Kobe in the ATL. Obviously Atlanta would want to have Josh Smith and Marvin Williams to play along side of Kobe, so the current players of Josh Childress and Shelden Williams might be in the deal with the 3rd overall pick.

It should be interesting to see what team Kobe is on after this year’s draft. If Kobe is still a Laker the Friday after the draft, I think Jack and all the Hollywood stars that make up LA’s season ticket holders, could breathe a sigh of relief.
