Yankee Fans Looking for more Derek Jeter

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

The media capital of the world is New York City and no star shines brighter in New York; than the Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter. He might have more fan support than any other athlete in any other city. Mr. Jeter certainly has one of the largest cities in the world on his side. This slick fielding shortstop never seems to disappoint the crowd either and sends excitement through out the Big Apple with his glove and his bat too!

It’s no big surprise that a company would not want Derek Jeter promoting their products. Baseball season is still a couple of months away from the start and the Yankee Fans missing their Derek Jeter; now can bring him to their phones. Playphone a company that is one of the largest distributors of mobile games, ringtones, wallpaper, videos and other things users can personalize, can deliver those Derek Jeter Super Bowl Ads to their phones.

I think Gatorade has made a wise decision by taking their sports drink and doing a commercial with Jeter. I like how the city is changing into a baseball diamond as Jeter struts through it. At the end you get to see a home plate in the middle of the street! I believe Jeter could get a home plate on one of the streets in New York if he really wanted to. Playphone certainly sees the value of Jeter and giving their customers the ability to add New York’s finest to their cell phones. There is no longer a need to be at home playing games on your television sets, when you can take your games and Derek Jeter with you. So Yankee Fans can now treat their self to more of Jeter and other great things; that can be added on to their cell phones.

Fishing Supplies in the Winter

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

I love to get outdoors and do a little fishing. I always like to find a good deal on fishing supplies and the rod and reels. I was thinking with the drought we are having right now, if the rivers and lakes might be low enough to find some good fishing lures. I bet they are some for the taking if anybody is willing to get out there and walk up and down the river and lake beds. It would be wise to put on some old clothes and shoes, because your probably going to get a little muddy or dirty doing this.

Since I am the lazy type I would just prefer to find some good deals. Now that we are in the middle of winter, I wonder if the places that carry fishing supplies would have some good deals? They are probably already ahead of me and I bet the stores are now stocking up on all the fishing bait, fishing line, fishing lures and those sankers; so they can be ready to serve the first fishermen of the season. I bet the best time to find the bargains would actually be in the Fall time of they year. Stores will want to clear and free up space for the Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays that will be approaching and to get rid of the fishing supplies would make sense. I bet the stores really mark down the prices, so that they can free up that extra space. I usually purchase my items in the spring and I’m sure there are more people like me. We are probably paying the full price for the fishing items we’re buying and if we could just force our self to shop during the Fall, we could have everything we needed come Spring time. It’s hard to buy things that you won’t be using for 6 months, but it probably is the best way to save money on fishing supplies.

Christmas Returns

Monday, December 31st, 2007

I see the stores are just as busy after Christmas as they were before Christmas. I know a lot of people have to take back gifts that don’t work, don’t fit or just want to exchange them for something else. I know this makes the retailers happy, because once you get the customers in the store, you can then sell them something else. So a lot of people will be going to these department stores just to make a return and will end up making a new purchase.

This is a good time to buy things and you will find some really good deals. The deals out there now are better than the ones on Christmas Eve Day. You probably seen a lot of signs in stores that day, that was stating this was your last chance for some great deal. The fact is, now is your last chance for a great deal. Most bargains are snatched up or prices go back to the norm after January 1st. So today will be the last day for many shoppers to find the really good discounts. If you look hard enough and are an avid shopper, you will see a few really good deals later on in January. Good luck on searching for the deals and let me know if you find any!

Charities Out for the Holidays

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

A lot of charities are now collecting toys and can foods for the less fortunate. You will see a lot of these bins for putting toys or food in while you’re shopping over the next few weeks. If you can spare a little extra money, try to buy a can of food or a toy that you can donate. These charities during the holidays really help families to have a good Christmas. If we all do our part, then we can make sure most families will have a great Christmas this year!

Friday After Thanksgiving

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Thanksgiving is almost here and many people are getting ready for the Friday after Turkey Day. This is when a lot of shops and malls open up in the wee hours of the morning and shoppers go shopping by the packs. Most of the best deals are found between 7Am to 11Am and these are the prime shopping hours for finding the best discounts. So if you are really looking for the bargains, be sure you get up early on Friday. Many of the stores will sell out of their advertised items that are on sale by 9 AM. So you really do need to be in the stores early to save the most money. All great bargains are not advertised and you can find some pretty good deals at places like a Kmart or Target. I haven’t been to one of these early morning sales in a long time and I think I am going to pass on it this year too, but I do want to do the mad shopping one of these days. Be sure to let me know if you find any great bargains out there!

BB Guns, Air Rifles, and Pistols Available

If you’re searching for an air riffle for the kids Christmas this year or maybe you would like to have one yourself; then be sure to check with Pyramyd Air. They have a nice selection of air guns to choose from. You can find them for less than $100 and some of the really nice ones are available for a few hundred dollars. They come in many different styles, brands, and whatever power you’re seeking in an air gun.

I was noticing the Big Cat 1200 by Gamo and this gun really packs a punch. Most of your typical air guns will have a maximum velocity of 600 to 1000 feet per second. This bad boy has a maximum velocity at 1200 feet per second! Now that’s packing a punch! It can easily take out the small game around your house that you might want to get rid of. No small game is going to be a match for this air gun by Gamo. If you’re looking for a gun that has some pop to it; then this is the one for you!

detail_big_cats.jpg

Another thing that made me like this gun so much was the fact that so many people wrote reviews for it at Pyramyd Air. Almost all the air guns they sell, you usually can find some reviews about it. You can learn what people like about the air gun, what they would change about it, and what they didn’t like about it. So it gives you a good idea on which gun to select when you get ready to buy one. They also have plenty of accessories to choose from when you do decide which air gun you want. If you already own an air gun and just need something for it, be sure to check with them and see if they have it first!

Would you like to save 5% on your purchases from Pyramyd Air? If you find a mistake on their website; then they will gladly award you a 5% off coupon that you can use on any purchases you make at Pyramyd Air. So be sure to check and see if you can find any mistakes! (Maybe someone should tell them that isn’t the way to spell Pyramid?)

Temporary Dental Repairs

Friday, October 5th, 2007

I think some of the most sensitive nerves in the body are found in the mouth. It’s amazing just how much pain a toothache can cause sometimes. Now one of the most excruciating pains I ever had was when my cap came off and I just had a partial tooth and a raw nerve on that tooth expose. It was so painful and the local emergency room really can’t do much for you. It happen on a weekend and that made it worse, because I had to wait until Monday before I could get to the dentist office.

Now if I would have had Dentemp OS it would have made a difference. I didn’t know stuff like this was available on the market. It was invented by a dentist and it is designed to be first aid for dental pains. This product is going to help a lot of people out and allow people to cure their own dental aches. There is no mess with Dentemp OS and you don’t have to mix anything together. It’s ready to use right out of the little container it comes in. You can get 6+ repairs from each little tub you get. This product works great for loss fillings, loss crowns, or any filling or crown repairs you might need to do. This is a product that everybody will want to stock in the medicine cabinet in case of an emergency. So maybe we can worry less when a temporary dental repair needs to be made.

This product does meet all the requirements for the FDA. Using Dentemp OS is a great idea for anyone needing to cement those crowns or fillings back into place, and the most amazing part is you will be able to eat in 30 minutes after making your dental repairs!

10 Things Home Depot Doesn’t Want You To Know

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Home Depot is one of the most admired American companies that is out there today. They have just moved into the top 100 for American companies and are listed as the 187th largest company in the world. Now while they have been very successful and still have room to grow, I’m here to tell you 10 secrets that the company doesn’t want you to know.

10. Their hammers are actually made in China. Not good for an American company that prides itself on being so patriotic to its employees and customers.

9. If you spell Home Depot backwards, it says “Toped Em Oh”. That is the message they send out to all the family owned hardware stores in the world. They thrive on being on top and they let out a big “OH” when they knock off another small/family owned hardware store.

8. Fidel Castro actually started Home Depot. Bernie and Artie bought the store with a couple of tractors that both of these rednecks owned their self and traded them to Fidel for the hardware store. Fidel needed them for his sugar cane crops and it turned out to be a pretty good deal for both parties. Cuba is one of the leading nations of sugar, and Home Depot is 2nd in the home improvement business, next to Lowes.

7. The “Do It Yourself” slogan is exactly what you get when you visit a Home Depot store. No workers are around for customer service and if you want anything they have to sell, then you will have to “Do It Yourself”.

6. That they sponsor Tony Stewart in Nascar Racing.

5. That all aisles are exactly 49 inches apart. This is due to an agreement that every Home Depot has an arrangement with all the local funneral parlors in town, that in case of an emergency and the caskets couldn’t be buried, then Home Depot would store them in their stores. Apparently 49 inches is the perfect width to have a casket and men on each side of it, to tote it down the aisles. Be sure to notice this distance the next time you are in their store, going down the aisles.

4.All Home Depot stores have a basement in case of a tornado, hurricane, or nuclear war. No New Orleans residents were allowed to use these basements during the Hurricane Katrina time, because apparently the local casinos moved into these spaces so business could continue as usual for the casinos.

3. Each person you see in a Home Depot commercial is actually a real employee and they save thousands of dollars by not using paid actors and actresses. After shooting the commercials, they are quickly transferred to the Nome, Alaska store and are assigned yard duty. Which the “yard” in Nome is 12 foot of snow 10 months out of the year.

2. That all the ceiling fans you see rotating in the store and on the commercials are actually plugged into a 1/2 mile – 1 mile drop cord that is plugged into a Wal-Mart socket. That is why you always see a Wal-Mart located close by a Home Depot.

1. That the sports team, president Arthur Blank owns (Atlanta Falcons) are used for placing bets for dog fights and football skills are not required. The players pretending to be football players are actually just used for their dog fighting connections.

Now you know the top 10 things that Home Depot didn’t want you to know. I will be back later to let you know what the top 10 things McDonalds uses for hamburger meat and cows isn’t one of them!

Time in the Yard

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

I would like to have some time in the yard. I don’t mean extra time or just time; I literally mean time in the yard! The kind of time that you can read from an instrument and know what time of day it is. Yes, I would like for my time in the yard to be a clock. Does that sound strange? I’m sure it probably does, but I found a clock that I think would look good out in the yard. So that is why I’m thinking I need time in the yard!

I’m talking about a nice street clock that would look good out in my yard. It would add prestige to my yard. I know people don’t use these street clocks to put in their yards, but I like to be different. I think having a time instrument that could be seen by anyone outside, would be a nice little luxury to have. I would be known as the guy in the neighborhood that has the clock out in his yard. So people would know how to get to my house if they needed to find me. Just look for the clock out in the yard. Not much of a chance that they would confuse me for someone else if I had a clock out in my yard.

I could buy one of these street clocks at 1-800-4Clocks.com. They have a few to choose from and a great selection of wall clocks. It’s a great place to go for anyone that is needing a clock. You don’t have to be a nut like me that wants one in the yard, but you could get a grandfather clock, atomic clock, or any normal type of clock from their huge selection of clocks.

For anybody that is a clock collector would enjoy looking at all the different clocks at 1-800-4clocks.com. They also have a blog that has a wealth of information that clock-lovers would enjoy. I enjoyed reading a couple of different posts they had on the atomic clocks. These clocks are amazing and they always have the right time. A place out in Colorado keeps all the atomic clocks on time and you can read more about these amazing atomic clocks in their blog. One of the post was titled “Atomic Clocks Always Show You The Correct Time” and it explains how the place out in Colorado can keep these clocks on time.

So if you need a clock (like me); then 1-800-4clocks.com is a great place to start. Once you see all the clocks they have, you won’t need to go anywhere else. Now let me go see how to install one of these street clocks out in my yard!
