You mean kids actually enjoy dressing up and going house to house, where they get free candy and goodies at each stop? Well I see things haven’t changed one bit then! I always enjoyed October 31st and going out to trick or treat, as the sun was beginning to go down. Back in my day, there wasn’t any Halloween stores just for selling costumes. We would go to a department or clothing store to find a costume. In most cases, they had about 10 different ones to choose from (if you were lucky). Sometimes I just dressed up into something that wasn’t really nothing. Just some face paints, some weird clothes, and my bag for storing all of the candy I would get. The Halloween candy would always last for days and days, since most of the time, your friends at school was sharing their candy from trick or treating. You trade out the candy you don’t really like for the candy your friends don’t really like and it was our first lesson in haggling as a kid.

The kid costumes have always been around for the little ones to buy. Today you can find so many costumes at the party stores and online, it’s ridiculous to see all the choices our youngsters have now. If your child wants to be a pirate for this Halloween Holiday, you could probably find 10 or more pirate costumes at just one online website or at one Halloween store. There is no doubt we need a stimulus package for every American in this country right now. The checks should already be in the mail, but the politicians aren’t doing their best right now to achieve this. We are losing our jobs and homes at a alarming rate right now and something must be done soon. It does look like things will get worse before they get better here in the States.

For those of you that have not been affected by the economy yet, should still be watching your pennies. You might be the next one in-line to lose your job or an investment that you have a lot of money tied up in. I don’t trust the Stock Market or the banks right now and I just prefer to keep my cash at home. I feel safer knowing that the cash is in my hand than sitting at any financial institution right now.
