Google Favors Longer Anchor Text

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

It appears the most popular search engine in the world likes more words in links. The new ways Google has been testing and check up on websites has changed dramatically over the last 6 months or so. One of the big changes is in the short one or two word links you can find on different websites. If webmasters want to keep their current rankings at Google or try to move up their listings there, might want to consider adding more words into their anchor text. If you have a page that you sell teddy bears on, instead of just using the words “teddy bears” as a link, see if “cute teddy bears” or “free lovable teddy bears” will help generate a better listing at Google. Just adding in one or two more words to the anchor text might be the difference in your website being on the first page of a search term or on the other pages that no one ever looks at. You do want to be first on the most popular search terms for your website, if you want people to find you through search engines. This might be accomplished better now, if you will choose to use longer anchor texts as the links on your website. Just because you add in “soft and cuddly teddy bears” into the anchor text, does not mean that your website won’t come up when an online user searches for “teddy bears”. Play around with longer links on your pages and let me know if you see the longer anchor text help you get better search engine rankings at Google.

Google #1 Ranking Not that Impressive

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

I recently had one of my websites ranked number 1 on Google. It stayed there for about 5 days and was for a very popular place that thousands are joining daily. During my 5 days of being on top for a popular keyword that would be serched for, I didn’t have one sign up for that 5 day period. So just how important is that number 1 spot on Google? Google branches off into many countries and your listing might change from country to country. I would have thought to be ranked on Google so high, that my 5 days on top for the folks in the USA, would have joined from my referral link. That didn’t happen and maybe I am still ranked number 1 in other countries.

I do have other pages for similar keyword searches and those pages aren’t boosting my downline either. I’ve not seen a high ranking in MSN or Yahoo, but wonder if more people are doing searches through MSN and Yahoo these days. I tend to use all 3 of the big search engines and just depending on what you’re looking for determines which one I might use. I still like the fact that Google sends its bot out more often than the other search engines and you can usually get a listing from Google in 24 to 48 hours. I guess a lot depends on your website and just how much traffic you’re getting to see just how high you might rank on Google or any other search engine. There is a new company out right now that says they can have you listed at number 1 for 40 of the top search engines. I am  currently working with them and trying to see just how high I can get some of my other pages on those search engine rankings. Each search engine is different and learning the differences can determine which search engine might give your website the best listing. Just keep driving traffic to your website, keep fresh content on your website and get all the links you can pointing toward your website. These basics are true for today and will be for tomorrow in getting your listing on the popular search engines like Yahoo, MSN and even Google.

Traffic Exchanges A – G

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Hello, I have recently signed up for a downline builder. The name of it is Start Page Clicks and they have over 300 different traffic exchanges they serve. I have took the time and entered all my referral ID’s to the traffic exchanges I am a member of. I don’t see any sense in signing up for 200+ more traffic exchanges, but I would be happy to add your referral ID to my list. This is FREE advertising and I will promote my page and might land you a couple of new members for the traffic exchanges you are signed up for!

I am going to list all the traffic exchanges that I have free on my downline builder. So all you have to do is reply to this post with the traffic exchange ID that you want me to insert on my downline builder. If your not a member of Start Page Clicks yet, go ahead and do it now; you could have 2 pages from their website promoting your traffic exchanges. You don’t have to sign up for their downline builder to take part in this.

Please only add 2 ID’s per post. Once you have added in the two ID’s of your choice, you must wait until at least one other person has replied to this post and then you can come back and add two more ID’s. This is to insure that no one can hog all the traffic exchanges for their self. ONLY ADD 2 ID’S AT A TIME; THERE MUST BE ONE POST AFTER YOUR POST BEFORE YOU CAN POST FOR ANOTHER TRAFFIC EXCHANGE.. thank you!

Moving Your Websites Up in the Search Engines

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

There’s really no big secret on how to get better search engine rankings. You need visitors and you need more visitors. Creating the most traffic possible to your website is the key. Now sometimes it can depend on the quality of those visits for the final numbers. For instance, is your traffic staying more than a minute at your website and are they clicking on links when they get there? These are things that can go a long ways in determing where your website ranks with other websites with similiar information.

Selecting a good meta tag and having a lot of keywords that are relevant to your website goes a long ways too. It’s always helpful when other websites has your link on their page. This is what the robots really search for when determing where your website will rank on the search engines. Your search engine listing needs to be catchy too, so when people do a search and find your website, they will want to click on the search engine link to get to your website. The bottomline is to stay active daily and do something everyday to push traffic toward your website. The search engine rankings will come and be sure to keep your website updated with fresh content.

Making Sense Out of Google

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

Google has recently changed its PR Rankings and it seems to be updating more frequently now. We use to get new rankings about every 3 months and now they are changing constantly. Some websites that had high rankings are now finding their new PR Rankings near the bottom of the pack. It appears that Google is now taking a much tougher stance to those websites that have paid ads on them. It seems to conflict their own interests and their big advertising market for Google Adsense Ads. MSN and Yahoo are the other two big players in the search engine market. They have both been trying to catch up to Google and it also seems that Google was one step ahead of them.

The new change in their PR Ranking system might affect the popularity of Google and many blog owners are now washing their hands with Google. Google is their own company and they have been setting the trend to how search engines are used today. Google is responsible for most websites traffic. They bring in tons of traffic more to many websites than all the other search engine players added together. So Google is definitely a search engine you want to be in good terms with. Even if you don’t agree with everything they do, you can still benefit by their large database of information that millions of people use everyday to help them find things on the World Wide Web.

Many advertisers have used these PR Rankings to help them determine which websites they want to advertise on. Some advertisers may not be aware of the dramatic changes in Google’s philosphy, but they will soon learn that very few websites now have that high Google ranking. So in time everything will balance out and the people that manage to find the high rankings in Google’s system, will once again be the elite websites on the internet.

Swapping Links

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

So many ways to rank your websites now and this is key in getting good search engine results on Yahoo, MSN, and Google. Your PR Ranking from Google and the Alexa Ranking are two ways that most people will judge your website by. You want a high number with the Google Ranking (0-10) and the lower your Alexa Ranking is the better. Some people get these confused, but just remember your Alexa Score is like playing golf. The lower you can score with your Alexa Ranking, is the better.

Now a good way to move up in both of these rankings is to swap links. Find other websites that are similiar to yours and swap links. Find a place on your website, that you can give others a link for their websites. In exchange, they can add a link on their website that will lead to yours. This works best for the Google PR Rankings, but your overall SEO will benefit from swapping links. Do as much as you can to have your link on as many websites as possible!

Traffic Attitude Hits 1000!

Friday, August 24th, 2007

I am proud to announce that Traffic Attitude, a traffic exchange that I get to manage has reached 1,000 members! We hit the mark earlier this month, but I had to delete some members that weren’t being very active. We now have a traffic exchange that has 1,000+ active members!

If you want to promote your products, services, or maybe your referral pages, then give us a try. The owner is committed to delivering results to all of his members and I am proud to be able to get to manage Traffic Attitude. Our family is still relatively small compared to some of the bigger traffic exchanges out there, but we strongly believe we are laying a strong foundation of groundwork, that will pay off in the future.

The websites that pay you to click have been exploding on the web as of late. We have saw that demand in advertising for all the people involved in these programs. We have a solid membership base that deal in these websites and they have been finding referrals at Traffic Attitude. I think we all know that you can’t make money clicking those 1 cent ads by yourself and the trick is to have people under you doing this process. It works the same way with your traffic exchanges. Join a new traffic exchange and build up your referrals and let your referrals earn you credits. This will save you time and you can move on to another traffic exchange and do the whole process again.

We are having a promotion that starts August 25th and will continue until the end of the month. Everything is going to be 5 times better than normal! Your banners, text links, and even the credits you earn from showing your referral pages will be worth 5 times more than normal! Don’t worry if you’re reading this message late, because we will have other promotions in the future! It’s been a great way to grow the traffic exchange, but more importantly it’s been a great way to reward the loyal members of Traffic Attitude. Please stop by and sign up with us for FREE! Earning credits is easy and your pages will get shown to a membership base that is already over 1000 members and growing daily!

***IF YOU SEE THIS POST AND JOIN TRAFFIC ATTITUDE FROM SEEING THIS POST ON MY BLOG HERE AT SINGLE SOURCE WRITING. Advertise with AdBux

Monday, August 20th, 2007

You can now find a great bargain in advertising with the guys from Adbux. It’s a place that you can get more people to your website in just a matter of minutes. I’m talking about thousands of people to your website in a matter of minutes! They have a membership base over 400,000 members right now and can bring traffic to any website needing traffic. If you need hits to your website for search engine purposes or maybe you are just looking for referrals to your website, then you can get results with Adbux. There are a lot of new sites popping up that are similar to Adbux, but none of them have the membership base like Adbux does!

WANT EXTRA INCOME?

Adbux can help people also earn a nice little monthly income. You just click on ads that get submitted by the advertisers and you can earn different amounts of money depending on how much the advertiser paid for each ad. There are so many ads that you can click there each day. If you log in and don’t see any ads to click, just wait a couple of minutes and refresh your screen. New ads are appearing every few minutes on most days and when they appear, they go very fast. So be ready to click fast and refresh the screen dozens of times each day and you can earn money. Payouts are made when your account is over $10 from the previous month. The best way to mazimize your earnings is to refer people underneath you, where they will be earning money for you. Also, you can purchase referrals for a good price and they are active referrals too. Only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays can you purchase referrals in lots of 25. I have steadily seen my income rise as the more referrals I get at Adbux.

So if you want to advertise with results or just earn money, or perhaps your like me and do both, then Adbux is the number 1 place on the web to be!

What’s Your Pagerank?

Monday, July 9th, 2007

Do you know how to see where your page ranks? It’s really easy to do and lots of places you can check your pagerank. You can do a search for pagerank checkers or just use this page rank checker for Single Source Writing. I just checked my pagerank for Single Source Writing and it ranks as a 6. The highest score possible is 10. I think only Yahoo and Google have 10′s and everybody else is 9 or lower. So you really can’t strive for a PR10 ranking, but PR9 is possible. Don’t get your hopes up too much though, because PR 8 and PR 9 rankings are pretty rare too. A PR7 is about the highest rank a normal person could ask for.

Now if you are some SEO genius or know you way around the rankings, you might have tips and tricks for getting a real high page ranking. I’m all ears if you have any suggestions or good advice. I would like to try and get my PR ranking higher for Single Source Writing. From what I hear, getting your website link on as many other pages is a good way to help with page rankings. It really helps if the website is relevant and they have a higher PR than you do.
