Top Bowl Games You Want To See This Year

Monday, December 19th, 2011

College football has wrapped up their regular season games. Some teams who failed to win 6 games this year, will not be playing anymore games this year. It is over for these teams and their fans, players, coaches, and everyone else involved with the team. For the rest of the winning teams out there, they will get to play in a college bowl game. It is the most exciting time of year and we don’t mean the Christmas holidays either.

What college football teams or bowl games do you look forward to watching the most? For me, I really can’t wait to see Michigan State and Georgia play. The Bulldogs have a super talented team of freshmen and they are a fun team to watch. In fact, the Georgia Bulldogs was number 1 in the country, when it came to the top recruits that committed to them last January. They have already had some big names around Georgia and the Country to commit to them this year. There are a lot more big names out there, that are expected to sign with the Georgia Bulldogs in late January or sometime in the new 2012 year. Michigan State was disappointed they did not get higher up in the final standings. I think the Georgia Bulldog fans feel the same way. Here is my prediction for the Georgia Bulldogs and Michigan State Spartans Bowl Game this year:

Michigan State Spartans – 9

Georgia Bulldogs – 44

Another game or actually team I want to see play is the Stanford Cardinal college football team. I think Andrew Luck is over rated and will never be a good NFL quarterback. I really feel sorry for any NFL Team that jumps up in the draft and takes this guy in the 1st round. I don’t think no team should take him in the first round of the NFL draft this year. The 2012 NFL draft and the 2013 NFL draft will be loaded with good quarterbacks. I hope the pro teams see this and pass on Mr. Luck from Stanford. He has faced no competition this year and the few times he did face a winning team, he showed no signs of being able to lead his team to victory. He didn’t win the Heisman Trophy and he won’t win any NFL games in his rookie year! Should be interesting to see what the excuses are this year, when he struggles in his college bowl game.

What bowl games do you want to watch this year? Is there a team or a certain bowl game you put above all the rest? I think the BCS Championship Game is fine. They did get the two best teams this year. Really they should pick 2 SEC Teams every year for this game. Since the SEC is clearly the best conference in football. Only the ACC is close to the SEC Teams and everyone else is way behind the curve.

Congratulations to the LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide for their championship game appearance. And congrats to both of these teams, for showing the Country, that the best college football is played in the South. It should be a fun bowl year this year and I look forward to the B.C.S. Title Game; when the S.E.C. College Teams can all celebrate and show the whole nation where the best college football is played!

CDC in Atlanta Prepares for Zombie Attack (true story)

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

Is it really true? The United States of America is preparing for a real life zombie attack? They believe it so much, that the CDC in Atlanta is preparing our defense plan? While it sounds like something from a top zombie horror movie or a fictional science fiction story, there is some truth to it.

The C.D.C. or Centers for Disease Control is making an emergency plan for zombies. Even giving us tips, on how to make or pack up our own personal zombie kits at home. I wrote a more detail account of this fascinating zombie story on my Connect Six Blog online. It looks like the CDC in Georgia, is trying to make more of a point, than the fact they actually believe in zombies. It appears if we make emergency kits our self or buy emergency kits online, we could prepare our self for any emergency. The zombie is a good example of a “worse case scenario”, so if a person plans well enough to fend off flesh-eating zombies, then they could handle anything.

What is a zombie? Basically the TV and Hollywood has taught us about zombies. While zombie movies date way back to the 30′s and 40′s; most give credit to a more modern zombie movie, as the one that really woke us all up.

The Night of the Living Dead from George Romero is what most of us consider the first zombie movie. This movie today, does have a large cult following. It was released back in 1968; which was a few years before my birthday, so don’t blame me for the zombie hype. Zombie movies were around before I was. If you look around online, you can watch for free, the 1932 movie White Zombie. While this classic movie may be given credit for the first zombie movie and the 1968 classic feature is considered the best zombie movie of all time, there are some with more recent dates attach to them. In fact. we have seen the zombie movies explode in the last decade. More zombie flicks have been made in the last 10 years; than all the zombie movies ever made!

So what is your thoughts about the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia preparing us for zombie attacks? A zombie is someone who dies, but then awakens, and their only goal is to eat you. They have a craving for human flesh (that is living), so if you are alive, they will sniff you out. To get rid of them, be sure to aim for the head. No silver bullets needed. Just a good slug to the brain or chop their head off and this will stop your zombie attacker. Please let me know, if you would like any more tips on zombie attacks. I’m sure with the help of Blogger Chris and the Centers for Disease Control in Georgia, everyone can rest easier at night!

What is your favorite TV program right now? It wouldn’t happen to be The Walking Dead would it? The Walking Dead is a very popular show on AMC. If you have not seen it yet, then try to set the DVR to record The Walking Dead on AMC. It is a good television show to watch. It doesn’t matter if you like zombies or not. Zombie fans will love this show and everyone else will love it too! Check it out and let me know what ya think. Thanks!

Dr Lisa and Her New Book

Monday, September 5th, 2011

For those who are lucky enough to watch daytime television, when most people are at work, has probably seen Doctor Lisa Masterson on The Drs television show. It comes on every weekday morning and they really offer a lot of good health tips and some great eating tips on their 1 hour doctors medical TV show each day. Dr Lisa is only one of the 4 doctors who make up the panel. The other doctors include Dr. Travis Stork from the bachelor, Dr. Jim Sears the kids doctor, and the famous plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon. These 3 doctors team up with the doctor for pregnant women; which is Doctor Masterson and she is the only female doc on the show.

Paper Dollhouse: A Memoir is the name of the newest book and fans of the Doctors can now order Dr. Lisa’s book online. It is available at Amazon Books; for those who would like to order a copy. This book, a Paper Dollhouse is not really a medical book. It is actually the life story, of one of America’s favorite women doctors. She isn’t only a lady doctor, but she is also a black doctor. Her book will talk about a little girl struggling to grow up and how much of a fantasy it would seem, for a poor black girl, to ever become a doctor. We all know how the story ends for Doctor Lisa Masterson, but how does the story begin? A lot of us don’t know anything about her. Once we read her latest book, we will have a better understanding to the troubles and know all the fights she had along the way, for her dream to come true. I believe this will be a great story and I can’t wait to get my copy of her newest book release. The Dr TV Show has released books in the past. Most of these books are about medical situations and things we can do, to begin living a healthier life. As far as I know, this is the first book, for any of the four regular doctors, that have created a personal book. The name of Dr. Lisa’s new book is Paper Dollhouse: A Memoir. Please be sure to leave an online review, after you have read this newest book from the Doctors TV Program.

Remembering Michael Jackson Parody on In Living Color

Saturday, September 11th, 2010
YouTube Preview Image

One of the funny things I can remember from the late night show; which came on each Saturday night, after the late-night local news had went off. Do you ever remember this In Living Color skit? It was one of the really good ones they did for, about, or on Michael Jackson. Poor Michael, his career and the decisions he made in his final adult years, really did tarnish this entertainer. He could do it all in the 1980′s and was the man. How things would change and the fans who use to love him and would do anything for him, suddenly turned on him and became his biggest critics. Now it’s all water under the bridge, since the untimely passing of Michael Jackson in the summer of 2009. He left this world one concert tour too soon, but he left behind enough things that will carry on through time. Probably the things he did in his later life; will become more and more distant as the years pass on and his great music talents and all the great musical videos he produced, will be the cream that rises to the top. I do know In Living Color and the Wayans Family did a great job with this classic Michael Jackson Parody; Am I Black or White. I hope you enjoyed it and thanks to the entire team from Fox Network, for producing so many laughs when In Living Color was just as popular as Saturday Night Live and aired at the same time SNL did too.

Greatest Concert Bands

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Which band would be known as the best all time concert band? I guess that is a tough one, unless you been to a lot of concerts and you have a clear winner. Is a band like Pink Floyd or Lynyrd Skynryd the best concert bands of all time? Which one of these two bands would you have most like to seen in concert 40 years ago? 30 years ago? 20 years ago? or today?

Fans like going to concerts where they can sing a long to a lot of the songs. A band who has a lot of songs in which most people know the lyrics to, will be the bands who rank the highest on the best concert bands of all time. I know Pink Floyd would have a few songs most people could identify with. The song list would be very long for Lynyrd Skynyrd and a lot of people would know Free Bird, Gimme 3 Steps, Sweet Home Alabama, and Simple Man to just name a few of the songs by them. I believe a lot in the crowd could sing-a-long to a Skynyrd Concert, so they would have to rank high amongst the top bands in the world to go and watch a concert from.

Guns N’ Roses and Metallica had a concert together one time. This is probably the biggest two names who have ever came together as one for a concert before. I can’t remember any conert bigger than the one GNR and Metallica did about 18 years ago. I saw them over in South Carolina, where the University of South Carolina Gamecocks play their home football games. It was a wild night with Faith No More as the opening act and then was followed up by Metallica. I think most of us got tired and reached our maximum levels by the time Metallica was done playing, we didn’t have a lot left for the greatest band ever; which was Guns N Roses. Both Metallica and GunsNroses have songs you can sing a long with and most people know several songs by each band.

Which band or bands do you think could make a powerful combination in concert together? If Pink Floyd and Lynyrd Skynyrd announced a 2011 Concert Tour together, would you make sure you were there to watch them? If you had free tickets to the event, but it was a few states away from your hometown state, would that be a problem for you?

Today is Friday the 13th

Friday, August 13th, 2010

One of those days which is suppose to be bad luck, but I have actually had some good luck on Friday the 13th’s. The last one or two haven’t been anything special for me, but it seems like the 2 or 3 that came before them, I did have some extra luck on those Fridays.

Now Friday has always been my favorite day of the week. It just always seems like people are in good moods. The school kids are out for the weekend, the parents probably have the weekend off too, and there is usually some good sports games to watch on Saturday and Sunday. All of the anticipations build up on Fridays, as everyone always feels like the weekend will just last forever and never stop. Sometimes we change our opinions once Saturday rolls around, but nothing ever gets us down on those Fridays. Not even a Friday the 13th; which just so happens to be today! Just to be on the safe side, please be careful out there and try not to make this Friday the 13th a long-lasting memory for you.

Vince Gill Coming to Larry’s Country Diner?

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

Go Rest High on the Mountain – Vince Gill

Well I haven’t seen anything official, but it would only seem natural that superstar Vince Gill will soon make his debut appearance at the Diner. I know Vince is really active in the Country’s Family Reunions and he seems to cross paths with many of the stars and legends that appear on that CD collection. In a recent episode of Larry’s Country Diner; while paying tribute to one of the legends that is no longer with us, you got to see Vince Gill and it looked like he had the best seat in the house. The person working the camera also made the extra effort to get as many shots of Mr. Gill as possible. In a room that was filled with stars, this tribute video that was shown on Larry’s Country Kitchen, seem to show Vince Gill as the biggest star in the room. I know a lot wouldn’t agree with that and even Vince his self would tell you that he’s a couple of rungs down from some of the big names that were present that day.

Why is Vince Gill wanted or needed for a guest appearance on Larry’s Country Diner? It’s because I have an invite from Renae the Waitress and I would like to save it for a very special edition of Larry’s Country Diner. I will just have to see if there is anyway I can find out the details and book my spot in the audience, for the day that Vince Gill walks into the diner and sings his signature song. Vince Gill was asked if there was any one song that described him or what song would he most want to be remembered by or associated with years from now. It didn’t take him long to reply and he did pick the song, Go Rest High on the Mountain. This is a beautiful song and probably one of the most requested funeral songs for a non-religious song. Vince isn’t the only one who has recorded or sung this song, but he certainly puts a smooth edge on it, like no one else can or hasn’t yet.

So it’s very important for me to find out when this modern day legend of country music steps foot into Larry’s Place. I would certainly do everything in my power, to make Blogger Chris’ debut the same one as Mr. Gill. Larry’s Country Diner is a one-hour program that comes on RFD-TV or the Rural TV channel. If Vince Gill shows up, they might extend the show and add an extra 30 minutes to 1 hour. It would probably be hard to pick which song Vince would sing second at the Diner, but it would be hard to overlook his first big hit When I Call Your Name. He is a member of a very exclusive club that is better known as the Country Music Hall of Fame. Vince Gill was welcomed into their very proud circle back in 2007, so with that status being on his resume, he can pretty much sing whatever he wants.

Hopefully for my sake, Larry and the Gang can get Vince to come in one day and tape a special edition of Larry’s Country Diner. If it was up to my mama, she would just assume to have the Coal Miner’s Daughter walk-in. She is a big fan of Loretta Lynn and it would be a big treat for her to see Loretta sing in person. If you knew of a certain time and date that you would be walking into Larry’s Country Diner; which performer would you most like to see performing? You can pick any performer that is still living and able to perform; who would you select?

Finding Time to Eat

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

The way my schedule has been going lately, it’s hard to even find time to eat. I have so much work to do and there just aren’t enough hours in the day to finish it all. Sometimes I wake up and roll right out of bed and come straight to the computer. I will put in 8 to 10 hours of work, before I even realize that I haven’t ate anything today. Usually I get one of those little headaches and when I start wondering where it came from, is when I figured out that I forgot to eat today.

I could use a little more organization in my life and that would help save me some time. I still don’t think I could complete everything I need to do on a daily basis. There is no such thing as weekends in my life right now. I work just as hard and long on the weekends as I do through the week. I guess if we humans didn’t have to eat, that would save me some extra time. However, I do enjoy eating and especially when it’s some really good food. I do try to treat my self from time to time with a really nice meal from a restaurant, but it’s probably going to be awhile before I can do anything like that. So for now, I will just have to keep my nose to the grindstone and keep working as hard as I can and maybe one of these days I will be able to catch up and take a deep breath.

Are Ya Blogging?

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

If you haven’t started blogging yet; then you really should. A blog is a great marketing tool to use online and anyone can do it. You can find free places online to start a blog and it doesn’t cost any money with these places. It is better to have your own unique domain name and host the website yourself. I know some people would have a hard time creating their own blog and hosting does cost money. If you can’t afford it or don’t have the knowledge to have a blog on your own domain, then do a search for the free blogs you can find online.

After you get your blog, try to post in it regularly. The search engines like to see fresh content being updated frequently. You can also add referral links in your blogroll to various programs. This is like having your own downline builder, but it’s a page that shows all your money making websites or the websites you have interest in promoting.

Be sure to add those banners in the HTML sections of posts. Some programs offer banners you can use for promotional materials and they will give you the HTML codes that’s easy to place in blog posts. If you just have a banner link, then you can save the banner picture to your computer and then upload it to your blog that way.

Pictures in general is a great way to spruce up your blog. You want to hold traffic as long as you can on your blog. Adding pictures is a great way to accomplish this. Be sure to try and add a few new pictures to your blog every week. This will help attract traffic to your blog and also give you longer visits to your blog posts.

So if you haven’t started blogging yet; then you need to start now. It’s time to catch up to the rest of us online marketers and a blog is the perfect way to start. You will love the benefits a blog can give you, once you give it a little time to work it’s magic. Try to be as active in your blog as possible and this will help a lot. Good luck to all the bloggers out there and let’s continue to provide the fuel for search engines and make the World Wide Web a blogger’s world.

NY Yankees are the Champs!

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Pin stripe nation is happy as the New York Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2009 World Series. It’s just one more championship the Yankees can add to their collection. It was a great baseball series between these two teams and really both teams are winners. The Phillies got to enjoy their ride this year, after winning the 2008 World Series. Now it’s the Yankees turn and the American League gets a chance to bask in all the glory.

The boys of summer start in the early spring and work their way through the dog days of summer. As the temps fall lower and the cooler nights of fall weather sets in; is when we get a chance to see October ball or early November baseball. A long 162 game season is the amount of games it takes to just determine the playoff teams. After our playoff teams are in place, we then get to see more baseball action. A big game was held in July that might have helped the Yankees to win this year’s World Series. The 2009 All Star Game was won by the American League and this gave the NY Yankees home field advantage in the World Series. This was important this year and perhaps the Philly fans could have enjoyed back to back World Series titles; if the National League would have won the All Star Game in July. It’s over now and we have crowned a new champion in baseball. The N.Y. Yankees are your 2009 World Series Champs! Congrats!
