I always liked this song. It is actually based on a true story. It was a car accident in Georgia and someone living in the town where the accident happened wrote this little tune. It has held up over the years and Pearl Jam covered the song several years back that shinned new light on this great song.

The stars are wonderful to see and this is how early man would pass their time at night. I know in my area of North Georgia we have seen less lightning bugs than we use to have. I think this is a direct cause of light pollution and lights at night do hurt some forms of nature. Most hotels along the coast have shades over their lights to help the sea turtles continue to thrive in the oceans. We need more efforts like this to help protect nature and to help us see the stars and other things in the night time skies. It’s all the small steps that lead to major changes and we do need to start reducing our light pollution at night.

The NFL or National Football League is about to conduct their draft soon. Many of the top players from the college football season of 2008 will be among the highest possible canididates to get chosen. I love watching the NFL draft every year and Chris Berman does a great job from ESPN. There will be a new start time to the draft this year. Normally the first round gets started at noon on Saturday and this year’s 2009 NFL draft will start at 4 PM Eastern Time. It will begin on April 25th and many NFL fans may be tuning in at noon to watch the draft and see it’s not on. It will start at 4PM this year or 1PM for those living on the West Coast.

We should see the first round this year go about like that. I think there are several surprises in this year’s draft class. I think Mark Sanchez from USC will drop like a rock in the draft and I really don’t think he’s worth a first round pick for any NFL team. It should be interesting to see how it all unfolds on April 25th. Does this mock draft have a player going to your favorite team that you would like for them to draft? If so, there is a good chance you may just land that nugget in this year’s draft class. Maybe you didn’t like the player chosen in this NFL mock draft, but it’s not official until the 25th gets here, so still time for things to change.

Is there any where better on Earth for a honeymoon; than the beautiful islands in Hawaii? I have always wanted to go Hawaii and figured I would just make it my honeymoon destination one day. I couldn’t imagine anyone not liking a trip or honeymoon under the warm sun of the Hawaiian Islands. These tiny islands in the Pacific are paradise and that’s probably why lots of people have Maui Weddings. I would probably choose Maui as my destination for a wedding, honeymoon, or just a family vacation. It has always stuck out to me as being the best place to visit amongst the Hawaiian Islands.

The Maui Resort would be a good choice to book your stay in Hawaii. They are located in a good spot for activities on the beach or the other fun things to do in Maui. I would enjoy the food so much in Hawaii. I hear the hotel that goes by the nickname “Maui’s Most Hawaiian Hotel” also has been voted the best Hawaiian cuisine. I love to eat seafood and I’m sure there would be a lot of seafood choices on the menu; along with the local flavor that Maui has to offer. The food would be priority number 1 for me, but you couldn’t keep me off of the Maui beaches. I know the surfers like to go to certain parts of Maui for the big waves. I don’t care about the big waves, but relaxing on the beach in Maui would be like heaven to me.

Have you ever considered a trip to Hawaii? Any chance that your first honeymoon choice would be in Maui or another part in Hawaii; I’m sure you’re not alone if you’re dreaming of Hawaii. It certainly is a place most travelers or tourists would rank high on their places to visit. It’s very high on my list and I hope someday I can save the money to make a trip there and spend a few days relaxing in the warm salty waters that Hawaii has to offer.

The marketers of the world and advertisers seeking new customers will be targeting the NBA this weekend. That’s because the NBA playoffs start and this will last for over a month. It’s a fun time of the year for basketball fans all over the world and they get a chance to root for their favorite teams in post season. Even the NBA cities that don’t have a team in this year’s playoff race will adopt a team to root for in the NBA playoffs.

A big audience will tune in for these games and it should be interesting to see all the new TV ads. I’m sure a lot will appear this weekend and most people love the first few games of the playoffs. It does go downhill a bit in the coming weeks, but once champions are found in the Eastern and Western Conference and the two teams are announced for the championship series, it’s another opportunity for advertisers. Some will take advantage of this weekend and the championship series and others will target the whole post season created by the National Basketball Association.

I think the sports world loves the start of baseball and they just seen a great tournament in Augusta at the Masters. The Kentucky Derby is around the corner and all of this exciting sports action will be revolving around the NBA playoffs. The center of attention will be in the basketball world and this is the place every notable advertiser should be right now. Millions all over the world will be watching the NBA playoffs and this is a great marketing time. It all starts this weekend, so enjoy your basketball games and let me know if any TV commercials grab your attention this year.

It must be nice to be the star actor or actress in the number 1 movie in America right now. That is exactly the fame and enjoyment Miley Cyrus is feeling right now with the new Hannah Montana movie number 1 at the box office. Her show that started on the Disney Channel and comes on weekly for TV watchers is now on the Hollywood big screen. People of all ages bought tickets over the weekend and now her movie is the top grossing movie of the week.

I think Hannah and Miley will be number 1 again this weekend and it will be tough to knock this movie off the top spot. A lot of the top 10 movies from last weekend are very good ones, so it is impressive to be leading the pack right now. I know on May 8th the new Star Trek movie will debut in theaters and this might be the first weekend Hannah Montana isn’t number 1. It should be an interesting comparison to see which movie does the best.

The new Hannah movie brought in over 34 million dollars in it’s first weekend. Star Trek might just pass those numbers and be the top movie in America after the weekend of May 8th has passed. It’s still uncertain how big Star Trek will be this time. This is their 11th movie and Hannah Montana has only 1. I do think Star Trek fans will need to buy their Star Trek movie tickets early, if they want to see this new movie on the opening night. I think many theaters across the country will sell out on the Friday May 8th showings.

Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus (however you want to refer to her) has a song currently playing on the radio. Music always helps a movie currently playing in theaters and Hannah has that on her side right now. A movie soundtrack can sometimes do better than the actual movie. I don’t see this happening with Miley Cyrus, but her new song playing on the radio will be a big marketing item too.

It seems the oil market has a shortage right now and some gas station might be running out of petro soon. This will cause a spike in oil prices and you may be paying more at the pump now. Consumers can’t win with oil and gas prices and it seems this is always going to be a problem for us. The summer months when most people travel always have a higher price to pay at the gas pumps and it has started very early this year and we might not see relief until the fall season of 2009. I think gas is still cheap for the moment and anything under $2.50 a gallon should be considered a bargain. We may be paying over 4 dollars a gallon soon and this wouldn’t be the first time gas has reached such high levels.

Buying a few gas cans and stocking up on gas that is selling for under 2 bucks isn’t a bad idea. You might not get your money’s worth this year, but if you continue to use your gas cans, I’m sure they will be a wise investment. If anyone has the extra money to buy 5 to 10 extra gas cans or containers to stock up on fuel; now would be a good time to do so. You can save money now by investing in oil and saving your own supply at home. Make sure to use real gas containers for storage, because other products may harm the gas or your car if the bad gas gets into the engine. We have to think ahead when it comes to oil prices and they are going to rise sharply in the coming weeks. Prepare now if have the money to do so and it will save you money down the road.

I also forgot to wish Alex a Happy Birthday on March 28th and it was Alex’s 17th birthday! They say it’s better to be late than never, so hopefully Alex forgives me on this one! It’s been 2 years since I started posting her videos and she continues to impress with each new one she releases. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before we see Alex singing or acting on the television one day. Happy Birthday Alex!

The Atlanta Hawks will be making another trip to the playoffs. They have clinched the 4th spot in the Eastern Conference and it appears they are likely to play the Miami Heat in the first round.

The 4th spot does mean the Hawks will have home court advantage in the playoffs. This has been the goal of the team this year and making it past the 2nd round is unlikely with Mike Woodson’s coaching ability. He seems set on playing Joe Johnson 40 plus minutes a game and this is not right for the team right now.
