The game was played between the hedges under a light drizzle for most of the day. It was the battle for pride and bragging rights in the state of Georgia. The Georgia Bulldogs hosted the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and it may have just been the best game in the historic match up. These two teams have been going at each other since 1893 and it’s always a good game with the Bulldogs of Athens get together with the Wramblin Wreck from the ATL.

It started off as a route for the home team and the Bulldgos got off to a fast start in front of their home fans which was easily over 90,000+ cheering fans. The 28 to 12 halftime score favored the Bulldogs and it seem Tech would fall short for a 8th straight year. The triple option started to show why it’s been so effective this year and the Yellow Jackets used it exclusively to get back in the game. It was a run away 2nd half for the guys in white and gold and the Bulldogs defense had no answer for the unique offense in the 2nd half. Georgia Tech couldn’t be stopped and when the dust settled between the hedges, the Yellow Jackets had put 45 points on the scoreboard and the Georgia Bulldogs only managed 42 points in their final efforts.

This may have just been the best game ever between Georgia and Georgia Tech. I’m sure the state of Georgia will be buzzing about this one for a long time. So it’s the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets that will have bragging rights for the next 365 days and I can’t wait for these two teams to play each other once again. Mark Richt suffered his first loss to the Yellow Jackets since he has been head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs. On the other side of the field, Paul Johnson now has the streak and he has never lost to the Georgia Bulldogs in his first year as head coach of the Jackets. So be sure to mark this one down on the schedule next year and the rivalry in Georgia is alive and doing well!

The Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry is a great a great way to donate your money this Christmas. I know charities of all sorts come to mind for the holidays and we all make an extra effort to give during the holiday season. I wonder what was on the mind of Pilgrims when they were on their way to Plymouth Rock. It must have been a scary time for these brave sailors searching for the new world. The world is mostly water and the oceans are so vast, it’s a wonder they made it to America. It was Plymouth Rock that they first struck land at and they quickly learned they were not alone. The natives to this new land was called Indians and they had been in America many years before the white man ever came. The two sides didn’t always see things eye to eye, but they would eventually make peace long enough to have a great party one day. They had a feast that a King would have enjoyed and no man, woman, or child left this dinner party feeling hungry.

That leads us to present day and once again we celebrate the days of life at Plymouth Rock. This is Thanksgiving Day in America and it’s one of our best holidays we have on the calendar. Many families will sit down at the table today just like the Pilgrims and Indians did so long ago and enjoy a meal that would be fit for a king. I believe the most popular item on dinner tables today is the turkey and this is one good tasting bird. I like the white meat the best and you eat that with a few good vegetables, some dressing with giblet gravy and a nice piece of pumpkin or sweet potato pie and it becomes one memborable meal. The technology of today continues to grow and Time Magazine is featuring all the great products that have came out in 2008. It’s really interesting to see some of the tech gadgets that have surfaced this year and 2009 promises to be another big year in the technology area. I think you would still have to say that the television and car are the two best inventions ever, but some of these that came out in 2008, may just challenge the technology of yesterday. People that have computers with internet service has a great invention too and our computers may be the most important technology of today.

So much quality and things you can accomplish with Hulu makes it a great choice for the best technology invention for 2008. Second on the list was the Apple IPhone. I haven’t had experience with this product yet, but I’m sure it’s going to be the top cell phone choice of users for a long time to come and it is the “smart phone”. Apple is also responsible for 3 other products that made the top 20! The popular online website Facebook is the 3rd best invention on Time Magazine’s list and I really need to work my way over there and see what all the buzz is about. I have heard of Facebook and I guess it’s really becoming a valuable source for content online. Twitter is another website gaining in popularity and they made the list at number 19.

Other things that caught my eye was Google Maps at number 25, TiVo HD Box at 39, Thunderbird Email from Mozilla at 43, and Meebo Instant Messaging at 94. There was a couple of blogs that made the top 100 list and it’s great to see bloggers getting that type of attention and exposure from Time Magazine. Our world continues to expand daily and technology is leading the way and helping to make our lives easier. I can’t wait to see where we go from here!

It seems there is a bit of a conspiracy uproar in the fast food community. We as consumers are not allowed to see how the cow goes from the farm to our number 1 value meal. I’m not sure what the big secret could be, but if restaurants like McDonalds, Wendys, and Burger King are not giving out this information, it does make one wonder why. Wendys restaurant says they can’t release the information because of the competition. I guess they don’t want other big fast food chains to know that Farmer John in Iowa sells his cows cheaper than Farmer Jake in Oklahoma. Since we live in the age of lawsuits and contracts, I’m sure they are some contracts that get signed between the farmers and fast food restaurants and I’m not buying this reason.

We are the ones that order those happy meals for our kids, the big whopper sandwich from Burger King and the hot chilli from Wendys and they all have ground beef or red meat from cows in them. We have the right to know how these animals are treated on the farm and what they are fed. Many believe these animals are not being treated right and only being fed corn, instead of a more natural meal of grass and other greens growing in the pasteurs. The fast food restaurants don’t want us to know how the animals are being treated, because they know they would lose business if their customers found out about the miserable conditions these cows are being left to deal with. The chicken industry has the same problems too and the chickens aren’t being treated as well as they could be either.

If the big fast food restaurants won’t give up the information on all the steps from the farm to our dinner plates, I think it’s time we make a stand and put them in their place. Until they release step by step accounts and what food and water sources are being given to these animals, I will no longer eat at Wendys, McDonalds, or Burger King. These are the 3 restaurants you should stay away from, until more light can be shed on their butchering practices and what steps they take to insure they are doing what’s right for these poor defenseless cows.

Does 25 dollars sound like a lot of money? For most of us it isn’t a lot, but it’s money we don’t want to throw away either. I often find myself spending 25 dollars just on going out to eat or playing golf with my cousin. That same 25 dollars I can blow in one day can be used to help rebuild the American economy and I can even look for a return on my investment; sounds too good to be true, right?

Rebuilding of America is something that needs to be done now and we have to start some where. 25 dollars is a good starting point and if lots of Americans will start investing this low amount, we can start revitalizing the real estate and construction industries. I know the average Americans are not to blame for our current economic crisis. It’s also not fair that our tax dollars are helping to bail out these companies that got us into trouble in the first place. A band aid is the only thing being done now and the bailouts currently taking place today are nothing more than a band aid. Why should we continue to pump money into industries and companies that are failing? Our economy will survive with the things people need or want to buy and forcing services or products on us tomorrow that we didn’t buy yesterday is the wrong approach. Investing 25 dollars to help jump start things back in the right direction is the way to go and we can all afford this amount of money. Now is not the time to be pointing fingers or picking out companies or our government to blame. Now is the time for average folks like you and I to help get the economy going again and we need the construction and real estate industries to help lead the way. I’m not sure how many people will be traveling this Thanksgiving. Usually the airports are the busiest during the Thanksgiving Holidays, but with the economy so bad right now, most people might just stay home this year. My family usually stays at home and my sister’s family comes over to watch football and eat all the great things my mama cooks up. We usually have turkey, ham, dressing, green beans, fried okra, giblet gravy, biscuits, and the typical Thanksgiving fixings. I really like the sweet potato pie for desert and it’s the one I eat most. Our family usually has several deserts on Thanksgiving Day, but the sweet potato pie is my favorite. I wouldn’t mind a little pumpkin pie too and that would hit the spot on Thanksgiving. So our family doesn’t have to worry about travel costs, but I’m sure other families are concerned this year.
