We are now in the middle of summer and if anyone is driving around without air conditioning in their car I do feel sorry for them. After seeing the folks in California dealing with a 5.4 magnitude earthquake earlier this week, it got me to thinking about places to live where disasters don’t occur. I’m not sure if there is really any place like that on Earth, but you can certainly pick your poision when you do decide to live somewhere. I live about 40 miles north of Atlanta, Georgia in the North Georgia Mountains and we don’t have earthquakes here. Good thing we don’t have them here, because people would not be as keen on these things like the California residents are. I guess the same would be true if a tornado came through California, those folks would not be  prepared to take cover like the folks in North Georgia have to do about a half dozen times a year. So where can we live to avoid earthquakes and tornados?

Well if you start running from those 2 natural disasters, you just find your self having to worry about other things. New York seems like a place that you wouldn’t have to deal with tornados or earthquakes, but they are other things in the Big Apple that you might have to watch out for. In New York you would have to deal with freezing cold temps in the winter and the possibility of being trapped at home in a blizzard.  People in New York City and around the coast line that has a very dense population of people and businesses are at risk for a hurricane that might come off the Atlantic Ocean. You also would have to face the un-natural things like another terroism attack on New York, so heading toward the Northeast doesn’t make a lot of sense either.

Is there any where to live that is safe from disasters? Perhaps if we just move to Canada, we would only have to worry about the cold temperatures, high winds and blizard-like conditions they have to deal each year. Idaho and Montana also seem like places you wouldn’t have to worry about tornados, earthquakes or hurricanes. So if the people on the East Coast wonder why anyone would want to live out in California with all of the earthquakes they have; chances are they are wondering why we choose to live in places that gets tornados. So there really isn’t any place that it totally safe from disasters and you always have floods and lightning that can put a damper on anyone’s picnic. When you choose to live somewhere, you just need to be aware of the history of the land, so you can prepare for what Mother Nature might throw at you someday.

I just took an interesting quiz at Bills.com. I didn’t do too well on it and I really didn’t expect to. I really owe a lot of money for bills and I really can’t afford the bills I have now. There is no doubts I need to start creating a nest egg, so I have some money to fall back on in case of emergencies. The Bills IQ quiz made me also start thinking about my retirement that is about 3 decades away. I really need to look at my golden years because I have failed to start saving for retirement yet. For me to start saving money, I first need to find a way to get some Debt relief.

Sometimes we don’t need to get a new job to bring in extra money. We just need to stop paying the high interest rates on our bills and this is where I could use some Debt help. It gets confusing trying to pay each bill and sending out so many payments each month to the people I owe money to. So I really need to pay my bills off, so I can start saving money that I should have started saving years ago!

Do you have a favorite summer time treat? Do you like to eat cold watermelon, milk shakes or just a good old fashion banana split? I have a weird craving pattern and I will eat more ice cream and milk shakes in the winter time than I do in the summer time. I’m not sure why that is, but I have always been like that. I guess the summer heat sometimes just makes you want to eat nothing.

Do you have a favorite ice cream that you like better than all the rest? I would have to say my favorite is chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. I like the little chewy dough that you get to eat when you eat this flavor of ice cream. I know there are many others that I like too. Rocky road ice cream is very good and I’m sure my buddy from New York would agree with me too, because this is her favorite flavor of ice cream. Maybe you just like a plain chocolate, vanilla or strawberry flavor of ice cream. Some other great flavors of ice cream is the vanilla with oreos in them, pralines & cream, butter pecan, coffee flavored ice cream, jamocha almond fudge, pistachio, mint chocolate chip or maybe you know of another flavor that’s really good. Alex Searches For Cures to Being Bored

So do you ever find your self like Alex? Do you get in these situations where you are just so bored out of your mind and you want to just find something or anything to get into? I know I get that way sometimes and most of the time for me its cabin fever that gets the best of me. Cabin fever is another way to say that your at home and you want to go somewhere, but you can’t or just don’t have no place to go. The cure for cabin fever is just to get out of the house. It can also help cure boredom, but a lot of people might not have the option of leaving their house.

I’m sure the YouTube Sensation Alex would love some advice or tips on things to cure being bored. If you have any good suggestions for her, please be sure to reply and I’m sure she will be up to trying anything the next time she finds her self being bored.

She continues to put out great videos of her singing talents and if you have never heard the You Tube Star sing before, you really need to listen to some of her songs. She really has an impressive library of songs stored away at YouTube to be so young.  This 16 year-old Mexican Teen is on a fast rate to being one of the top entertainers over at You Tube. She is an entertainer there and thousands of people have already got to enjoy the beautiful YouTube Sensation singing songs in the comfort of her home in Mexico. We all get the chance now to enjoy hearing Alex sing for free and I’m not sure that will always be the case. I think one day we will have to pay for her album or CD in a store or perhaps purchase a concert ticket to get a chance to hear the great singing talents of Alex. She is a young star on the rise and it’s not just me that thinks this either, as you can read through all of the other comments that get posted by the YouTube users that watch Alex’s videos at You Tube.

I like to go fishing during the cool mornings of the summer time. Often it’s too hot to fish during the summer days and if you wait until evening, it seems the light of the day disappears faster than the heat left from the hot summer sun. After the heat has had all night to escape, it’s great to get up as the sun is rising and throw a hook into the water. Grabbing up the rods, bait and slipping on your tactical pants and wearing your lucky fishing hat to a nearby lake or river in the AM is my type of fishing. The weather is cool at this time and it’s so nice to see a lake that is real still and the only ripples you see in the water is from a fish jumping up to eat it’s morning breakfast, from a bug that might have been trapped on top of the water all night long. The mornings are the best time to go fishing and even when you fail to catch one, you still got a chance to spend a morning with nature.

There is a whole world of surfers out there that most of the world doesn’t know about. People everyday come to their computers and will click on symbols, colors, matching numbers or a variety of other things, so they can move on to the next page. This is done through a thing called traffic exchanges. People join traffic exchanges in the hopes of bringing traffic to their websites or adding referrals to whatever program they are promoting. People in many cases just don’t join 1 traffic exchange and surf it for only a few minutes each day. Being on a team gives you the chance to communicate with other people on your team and it’s a great way to share tips and advice on the traffic exchange world and on other ways to market online. It appears the first tornado of the 2008 season will be hitting the U.S. on Wednesday morning. Dolly is gaining strength and forecasters believe the storm will be a category 1 hurricane before it reaches the Texas border. It’s still unclear where the hurricane might make land fall but many think the Texas and Mexico border will be a pretty close guess. This hurricane is expected to bring 15+ inches of rain to the area where it comes ashore at. So people can expect a lot of flooding to occur along with all of the gusty winds that Dolly will be packing. Please make sure you take cover if you live any where near the area of southern Texas that borders the Gulf of Mexico. Dolly is still in the Gulf of Mexico, but many believe the category 1 hurricane will come on land in the next 24 hours. So now is the time to take shelter, evacuate or do the things you need to do for this hurricane in the Gulf. Dolly is coming, so if you do decide to wait the storm out, please be careful and be sure to have plenty of flashlights and batteries, because I’m sure many folks will lose their power when Dolly slams into the Texas coast.

I know there are people that like cheese and then there are some people that LIKE cheese. I like it on certain things and just an average eater of cheese. I don’t find that I have to put it on everything and a lot of stuff I make sure I don’t get it with cheese on it. I like some chili cheeseburgers, but it’s hard to find people that fix them just right. I actually prefer a hamburger without cheese. So I will order most of my burgers without the normal yellow American cheese. I do like the swiss cheese better and I don’t mind eating Swiss cheese on a hamburger. I really like the Swiss and mushroom burgers that a lot of places serve now.

When I order tacos, I usually will tell them extra cheese. I find some places don’t put enough cheese on a taco and I do think cheese is good on a taco. I also like plenty of mozarella cheese on my pizzas and after working in a couple of places that sold pizza, I know I am not the only one. Lots of people will order their pizzas with extra cheese. The more cheese the merrier for a lot of pizza lovers out there. I also like cheese and nachos and that’s another good way to eat cheese. I really like it when a few jalapenos are available to go with my nachos and cheese.

Have you ever tried cheese on your chili? After you get a bowl of good chili, adding some shredded cheese on top is pretty good too. Some people will put onions, tomatoes and other toppings like this on their chili too. I must admit that adding on a few of these toppings does make the chili taste better. One thing that is very popular now is people putting cheese in their eggs. I don’t like cheese in my eggs and just prefer them scrambled and leave the cheese out. So many restaurants these days will have cheese on hand, so they can add them to their eggs or just place a slice of cheese on a sausage and egg biscuit. I don’t think cheese is a good breakfast food and I never eat cheese on or with any breakfast foods. I have sometimes had pizza left over from the night before and I will take a piece of pizza with cheese on it and have it for breakfast, but no cheese on your normal breakfast items.

Is there anything else you like cheese on? I don’t care for it on my baked potato and really only like butter on my baked potato. Cheesecake doesn’t count, because that really isn’t cheese, so make sure you tell me a real cheesy story!

The 15th inning marathon on Tuesday night was a good baseball game. What was not good is that the last batter of the game ended it and if an out would have been made, the game would have been stopped. Baseball is yet to figure out an All Star concept that rewards the fans. They are once again putting the fans second when it comes to the boys of summer. The game is meant for the fans and more should be done to reward them. The fans don’t care that players go back to their team tired or unable to pitch right away. What the fans do care about, is seeing the best players in the world competing against each. Baseball has not let this happen and it’s making the fans feel like they are the ones left holding the bag. I now will ban baseball for the 2008 season and I urge you to do the same too. Let’s not buy MLB merchandise or attend these games, until baseball puts the fans first and give us the game we deserve.

Well things didn’t go to great in my first pool match I had in my new pool league. I use to shoot pool all the time and I have never had problems with fears or not being relaxed around a pool table. I took about 8 years off from the sport and then got contacted out of the blue to join a pool league. I decided to go for it and I jumped in head first. Not sure if this was wise or not, because when I played my first match, I got beat pretty bad. I had a hard time relaxing and my body was shaking all over. It was a very nervous time for me and with everybody watching me shoot, just made the whole situation more stressful.

YouTube Sensation Alex sings NO ONE (Alicia Keys)

The young 16 year-old Alex continues to put up quality videos at You Tube. Her latest addition of this video just shows the beauty and vocal talents this teen from Mexico has. Alex is always looking to challenge her self with a new song or learning to play a new instrument. She has dreams of composing, playing or singing music when she gets older. She has a good head on her shoulders and she continues to prove that she has talents that are worthy of bigger and brighter things than just the You Tube airwaves.

It would be nice to see someone stumble across the YouTube Sensation someday and see all of the talents Alex has. I think commercials and television sit coms could be a possibility for her too, because she presents her self in front of the camera so well. I’m not sure yet on where this shooting star is headed right now, but I am sure of one thing and that she is truly a star. I believe it’s only a matter of time until someone else gives her a direction to go or Alex decides that on her own. You would not won’t to bet against her, as she continues to put out sensational videos of her singing talents and just her overall charming personality that she possesses.

Have you had a chance to check out the new Windows Vista yet? Do you have any thoughts or opinions about Vista? I can remember getting introduced to computers through the Windows 95. Since everything was so new to me back then, I really never had the chance to get use to it or even comfortable with it. Once I started learning a little more on how to use computers and navigate around the World Wide Web, I was already on my 2nd computer and this computer had the Windows 98 program installed on it. I did have the chance to use this one a lot and I really got use to using Windows 98. Soon other software programs would follow from Microsoft and I would have the opportunity from time to time to check those out. I never really seemed to like the new programs, because I got use to the Windows 98 so much. So to me, the Windows 98 was the best one. I soon would have a conversation with one of my friend’s dad and he told me that Windows 95 was the best one to ever come out. So soon I picked up a pattern about the way different people would have different feelings for each Windows product. It wasn’t really the fact that one was better than the other, but it was the Windows program that people got use to using, that would be the one they would call the best.

So now move into the latest Windows product and we currently have Windows Vista on most new computers that you will go buy now. Currently there isn’t a lot of positive talk about Vista and I believe it has to do with it being new and you have to do things in a new way to effectively use the new Windows Vista. It’s no big surprise to me that a lot don’t really like the Windows Vista right now, but I think in time that will all change. They are young people right now getting a chance to learn about computers for the first time and these people are learning via the Windows Vista way. So give them a few years to get use to things and when Windows releases its next new program to the market, many of these folks will be saying how Windows Vista was the best ever. I have had a chance to use the Windows Vista and for the most part you can figure it out pretty easily. They are some differences from it and earlier versions of windows. I think in time many of these new changes will be for the good and I believe the Windows Vista product will survive. Don’t be afraid to get Windows Vista on the next computer you decide to buy, because it is still a quality product that makes using the computer on the World Wide Web so much better!
