The Eastern Conference won the NHL All Star Game this year in Atlanta. My hometown favorite Ilya Kovaluchuk didn’t score a goal, but we are still proud of him. Marian Hossa did talley one for the East and he was the 2nd Thrasher to be on this years team. It was a fun game to watch and very close. I was a little disappointed at the skills competition the previous night. I thought VS did a horrible job covering the event. Their announcers didn’t seem to know what was going on and it made it very difficult to follow. Maybe ESPN can get next year’s all star festivites and be better prepared than the guys from VERSUS was.

There were a lot of famous people watching the All Star Game in Atlanta. I saw Garth Brooks there and he was helping raise money for charities. It was a very fun weekend with the NHL in town. I hope that the NHL will select Atlanta in the near future to host a future all star event. From all that I am hearing now; it seems Atlanta was successful in holding the event this year. Ok, I guess the NBA All Star Weekend is just around the corner and I can’t wait to watch that out in New Orleans. The NHL and NBA has the best All Star events and baseball would be third with the homerun derby. The NFL hasn’t quite figured out a way to put on a great All Star event like the other sports have.

That might be the cry for many people that have signed up for those Bux websites. They are 5 or 10 new ones that pop up each day and usually in a week’s time they have a few thousand members. I have found an ice cream I really like. It’s Birthday Cake ice cream and I can’t recall who makes that off the top of my head. It comes in a yellow box, so maybe you know the company or brand I’m talking about that packages their ice creams in yellow? Its really good if you have never tried it. Its basically vanilla ice cream with little chunks of birthday cake in it. You also see some colors and that might be from birthday cake icing. It’s perfect for anybody that you might know, that has a birthday coming up. See if you can find it and you will see its the hit of the party! I think it goes good with plain potato chips too. There is just something about eating something cold and sweet and then getting a salty taste in your mouth. Once you eat a few potato chips and have that salty taste in your mouth, then go back and eat some more cold ice cream. It might sound like a strange combination, but the taste buds love it!

I think I will go ice cream shopping soon and might try a new brand if someone can give me a good suggestion on one that you think I might of not tried yet. I don’t recall hearing this song, but I did find a video clip of Mandy singing with clips of the movie A Walk To Remember. I thought I would post both videos and judge for your self how close is Alex to a superstar like Mandy Moore.

I think the first thing you notice is the power and strength behind Mandy Moore’s voice. However, Alex does a good job by not going the Mandy Moore route and puts her own thing on the song. You constantly hear Randy, Paula and Simon saying that on American Idol. A lot of singers try to mimic or just copy what the original artist did with the song. YouTube Star Alex would have made the American Idol judges proud! I know you guys are out there Simon, Paula and Randy; so what did you think? Is Alex American Idol material?

If the producers from the movie A Walk To Remember ever want to put out a sequel or part 2 to the movie, I think they could use Alex as the next Mandy Moore. I think she is well on her way and you can start mentioning the young YouTube Sensation; who is still only 15 years old, with the likes of a powerhouse singer like Mandy Moore.

I watched an interesting program last night on television. It was talking about all the oracles or prophets over time and how they have made predictions that came true. Many of these predictions are vague and are left for interpetation. So it’s hard to say a lot of these are actually right. They are a lot of different predictions that people have interpeted into our time today; that seem to fit.

Now the one big thing that a lot of different prophets was focusing on was the end of the world. It would occur in the 21st century; which we are now currently living in. They even went on futher in some cases and got to the date December 21, 2012. On that date is when a blackhole in the center of our Milky Way Galaxy will be lined up with the Earth and the sun. When this perfect alignment occurs; it is thought the poles will change places. It’s already believed that this has happened in the past. Some believe that Alaska was once on the equator and could return there again on December 21, 2012.

The poles could change quickly or might take several days to do so. The change will result in mass distinction for a lot of plants and animals currently living on our Earth. This could be the last day for man, but with 7 billion people in the world; you would think a couple of us will survive this big climate change. That’s what they were talking about last night on the History Channel. I guess for now it’s just a wait and see thing. You know this would have to happen on a Presidential Election year too!

Who is your choice to win it all in this years big game? I think most people think that the New England Patriots will win the Super Bowl in Arizona. Since no one has found a way to beat them yet and they have already beaten the New York Giants this year; they would be a safe pick. I’m not sure the Patriots can beat them 52 to 0 or some of them lopsided scores they have posted this season. The New York Giants have a good team and Plaxico Burress might be the secret weapon.

Manning has to find his big play receiver all during the game. This is how you beat the New England Patriots. Pass on them and keep moving the ball down the field. Don’t try the run game and try to shorten the length of the game. Take it to them and try to get out to a lead. If the Giants are leading the game heading into those last 15 minutes of the game; I’m not sure Tom Brady is good enough to take that kind of pressure. Randy Moss has clearly been the MVP of the league this year and is the main reason the Patriots are perfect to this point. The Super Bowl should be a good game and I look forward to watching it!

Does anybody have to have a little help in going to sleep at nights? I have been taking something to help me sleep every night for the past few years. So saying that I’m addicted to nightime sleep-aids would be an under statement. I do from time to time try to sleep without the help of anything, but I have really bad dreams and I only stay asleep for like an hour when I do it that way. If there are any doctors reading this, I would like to know if that is a common thing? Do people often only sleep for an hour and have really bad dreams when they don’t take a night time sleep aid, our bodies are use to having?

I usually take something like a Tylenol PM or Benadryl to help me sleep. I’m not really taking the name brand of those products, but the generic brands that Kroger offers for the name brands. They do help me to sleep and I usually will doze off about 90 minutes after taking a couple of night-time sleep pills. If I don’t take anything, then there is a good chance I will see the sunrise in the morning. I hate that feeling when I see the sun come up and I still haven’t gone to sleep for the night. I am a night person and I have had several night time jobs, but I’m ok if I can just get my peepers closed by daylight. It makes me feel better knowing that I went to sleep while it was still dark and then waking up close to noon. If I stay up until daylight, then there’s a good chance I want open my peepers until after noon. That is just too late to get your day started and it makes me feel like I have wasted a day when I wake up after noon time.

I don’t do things to help me at night either. I do have my share of snacks high in sugar and drink plenty of sweet tea and cokes right before bedtime. It’s just the way I have always lived and I don’t think cutting them things out right before bedtime would help much. I would probably just get a headache from the lack of caffeine or sugar. Be sure to share your night time routines with me, if you have trouble sleeping or have found a good way to get sleepy at night. I think I am a borderline case for insomnia or maybe just diabetes from all the bad foods I take in.

Some of the stars like Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin and Atlanta’s own Ilya Kovalchuk will be in Atlanta on January 26-27. This is the first time my state and city has had the honor of hosting the NHL All Star Game. I’m really excited to see how the city of Atlanta does in taking care of all the festivities associated around All Star Weekend.

Seeing these amazing athletes determine which one is the fastest on the ice and just which NHL All Star has the best accuracy with their shot. This is a great time for the city of Atlanta and we look forward to making this one of the best NHL All Star Weekends ever! This is truly going to be a once in a lifetime event for the people in Georgia. We even get to root for some of our own guys in the big game like Marian Hossa and Ilya Kovalchuk. Is American Idol losing it’s steam? I don’t see as many blogs or advertisements on the computer or television for them like you usually see at the start of a new season. I wonder if its because of the earlier start than last year. I believe it was last year or the year before when they started on Super Bowl Sunday. I don’t have much talent as a singer, so I know where my talents would land me on American Idol. I would be one of those people that wouldn’t even get to finish their song and would be begging to the judges “oh wait; it gets better, just let me finish”. I guess you can either sing or you can’t. It should be interesting to see what new star emerges from the smoke of American Idol the most popular show on the tube and almost watched by as many people that tune in for the Super Bowl each year.
